side marker re wire question

Post by slaw » Sun Aug 26, 2007 10:50 am

ok so i got pulled over last night and got a written warning about my side marker lights because i have clear lenses with blue bulbs (been running them for over a year now and never had a problem) and i was told it was a 75$ fine for each side so i was wondering if there was a way i could wire them so they only light up as my turn signal and so they dont come on when my headlights come on

maybe just cut the wires going to them all together and then slice the wires to your blinkers and run some new wires to the side markers?

although I think this mod makes them blink as well as stay lit up.

Why not just change the bulbs in them?

^^^^i agree. if a cop sees u with the blue turn signal on u'll get another ticket. in fact, i think it'll attract more attention to it b/c ur not supposed to have blue lights on the car especially flashing blue lights.

yea i looked at the how too this morning but it wasnt what i was looking for
and as far as changing the bulbs, i really dont feel like it cuz i mean i put the blue ones in there for a reason, id rather just have them specifically wired to my blinkers than to change them back
i mean its not a big deal, in the year ive had them this is the only time its been a problem, i was just curious if it was an easy fix or not
im gonna try and re wire them to the blinkers later in the week

getting a ticket for a blue light has nothing to do where the blue light is located. it is the impression that the light could be mistaken by a reasonable person that it is a law enforcement officer discharging his official duties.

however be on the safe side... just go amber...
