Exactly... Im 18... I know what I would do if I had a 13 second SRT4; I would probably end up wrapping myself around a pole after being provoked into a race... No slam on you or anything. And you dont drive fast very often? Why else would you want an SRT4, Cobalt SS, Eclipse GT, or anything else? Not because they are practical, fuel sipping, low cost of ownership vehicles. If you dont drive fast, then why would you want one of these kind of cars?
But hey, dont ask a forum for their opinion if you arent prepared to hear something you dont like. Make your own decision next time.

Personally, any eclipse I would get would HAVE to be the 99 AWD GSX... Any other Eclipse is a waste of money IMO. The salvaged SRT4, no thanks, no salvage title for me, but then again, that is me. Cobalt SS/SC, I would rather get the Ion Redline, it has the cool suicide door in the rear of the coupe :D -- then again, there are a ton of cars I would buy... 350Z, G35, Acura RSX-S, 07 Civic Si Coupe, Altima SE Coupe, list goes on and on........ 66 Mustang 302, 73 Monte Carlo, 69 Camaro, 70 Nova... I mean c'mon... :lol:

Between those two cars you listed, I have to say neither.

I would have to agree with everyone else, I would hold out for something better.

A short story about why to avoid "salvage" type vehicles.
I had an '88 Daytona Shelby Z that I had HUGE ambitions for (Boost central baby!).Once we started working on it we found that someone had done an engine install, and they had just hacked the main harness(es). We found many wires (even fuseable links) that were hand twisted together, and then wraped in tape :shock:. Needless to say I had many electrical "ghost" problems. The car frustrated me to the point that I finally just dumped it, and bought a brand new Neon. It's taken my 5 years to finally get the mod itch again after the horrible time I had with that Daytona. I was advised by older, and more experince friends to avoid buying that particular car in the first place, but I just HAD to have it.

Regardless of your intelligence, or driving ability, the insurance companies will still see you as a liability because of your age, and the % of accidents caused by young drivers. We've all had to go through it, just something you have to deal with. So, the hotter the car, the higher the ins. price tag while your young.

Something else to think about with a salvage title: Once a salvage title, always a salvage title. You will never get full value for it, so in 5 years when you want a new car and want to sell it, it will be worth alot less than an SRT4 with a clean title. And the last thing any Neon needs is something else to make its resale value drop.
