Car feels like it's lacking power in the upper RPM's...
My car just seems to have lost its upper end power. I'm coming up to my tune up which I described in a previous post, but I'm thinking there is something else causing my car to lack power. Watching the two videos I posted, do you think my cat could be getting clogged up, robbing some of my power?? Or possibly o2 sensors not giving it correct readings?...unless it runs the closed loop during WOT.

It just seems...slow. I might plan on getting a high flow cat installed, but I don't want it to mess up my downstream O2 sensor, especially since I have a NGC

I wonder if my re-flash changed some of the fuel tables under WOT. I have no way of telling though, but it was after the re-flash that my cr ran slower times at the track. After the tune-up, I'm going to go race again and post my results. I'm also going to get a copression test done to make sure everything is in good order.

Is that picture in your avatar of your car, and is it real?

the 8K rpms is not real, it is my car, and it's the test you can make the cluster do if you hold in the reset button when you turn the key to the ON position. Picture of the car on the beach is real.

One of 3 I took.
But back to the subject, I'm just going to have to wait until I get everything done to the car. Until then, I'm just going to have to wait.

offtopic-- it is to reset the cluster... you hold in the milage reset button with car off, turn to on (still holding button) and then let go once the entire dash needles bump up in sequence.Adionik wrote:holy crap i'm going to try that rpm thing. you just hold it?

Back on topic, sounds like its a clogged cat to me, I had the same problem, then I gutted the cat, and then noticed a huge difference.
