Shave the motor while you're at it.

thats the idea................im just adding more work to myself by shaving all the unneeded holes in the engine bay. I can't stand seeing cars that have a tuck done & yet they left all the damn holes

please, i hate Imports............alot of truck guys do wire tucks, its just more noticeable on imports.
I'm sure some of you are a bit puzzled by the retro emblem, but im planning some other "retro modifications" as well

The car he's refering too is Steve and Craig Kiernan's car. Craig's username is "CraigK" on neons.org. They're awesome guys....and they have some mad fabrications skills/resources. Here's a link to their page with some pics...i think some of them are old though.

Anyway. Dan, the car is looking awesome, and I can't wait to see what it looks like when it's done. It'll be clean clean clean.

hiding all the wires in the engine bay, relocating engine fuse box, relocating battery, relocating PCM
hybrid-Srt2001 wrote:wait...... make upper controll arms? for the front?
Yep, thats right. I'm going to be using Camaro upper Balls joints to make a set of Upper Control Arms. Then i'll figure out a mount to mount it to the spindles

thats cool, what is the point of the controll arm, to keep the camber from going super negative, or to add strength?

mostly to get it lower & safer. the original design i created isn't worth a damn.................but i will of course have camber adjustments when i make the UCA's. The UCA's will be tiny!! I swear from one end to the other will be maybe 6"

Done shaving the engine bay, now i just have to build the UCA's & then i can start then i can finish the body work on the engine bay. After that, my painter will be coming over to shoot the bay & then i can drop in the new engine & get all the wires tucked away. I went ahead & seemed sealed the firewall from the inside of the car & sprayed it with Underbody coating. Before the interior goes back, the whole car will be coated with underbody coating on the inside & it will have dynamat all through it as well.

PCM - will be mounted behind the driverside fender right below the intake filter
FUSE BOX - will be tucked away under the passenger side of the dash hopefully. Depends on the fitment of the new dash
BATTERY - will be hidden / tucked away in the trunk

While i wait on parts, i continue to shave more on the body. The Key hole is already done & the 3rd Brake light just needs some more welding before i do the body work.
