2001/02 PT supercharger kit. This kit is about 90% complete, the supercharger itself is a Lysholm 1.2L supercharger....

After a long time planning, Christine started last night with the Lysholm SC kit....

This pic is from the other day mocking it up to get a belt ordered. But last night she started up and idle perfectly. The video from last night was lost but I'll try to get a new video tonight.

I've got just about 3K miles on the motor since June and there has yet to be any major failure's. Worst thing that has happened is a belt being blown off the car and that's mostly after I clean the engine compartment and get some type of shine chemical on the belt. Otherwise my supercharged 2.0 has proven to be pretty reliable as the past few weeks I've been driving it back and forth to work.
I'm hoping in the next few weeks I may get it to a dyno to see where I stand before parking her for the winter.

For those of you following this topic....
Supercharger is a Lysholm 1.2L (74.5ci) designed originally to be used on a PT Cruiser. I got it adapted to my 2.0L Magnum engine and it added approximately 75hp/75ftlbs over stock at the motor. Dyno testing showed at the motor it produced approximately 200ftlbs of TQ from 3Krpm to 7Krpm....

PS - the PT/Mopar performance clutch was slipping....

I know there is not a real supercharger you can buy without heavy mods and lots of time and moeny spent but I was looking online to see if anything new had come out in the past year or so and I stumbled upon this. Umm I dont have much knowledge on forcee induction, never had the moeny to spend, I always went n/a. But would this be worth it? I eventualy am going to put a turbo into ym 2002 sxt (I have a better job now haha). Would this help at all? Is it worth it? Anyone have an info on this?

That's an electric fan.... dont waste your money. Honestly I think the easiest way to supercharge would be to delete your AC and put a small centrifugal unit there. Just my 2 cents.
I was going to do it but the supercharger I had was outrageously large and I ended up selling it to my brother for his mustang project.

He is correct, do not be fooled by those cheap electric fans as superchargers...

small update:
When I dyno'd this supercharger it was underdriven and was spinning at a 1.5:1 ratio. Since then I have the blower running at a 2:1 ratio and it's a completely different animal that hits 20psi of boost way to quickly.

I'm running the only supercharged setup on a 2GN. It's a modified PT Cruiser supercharger kit that I built and it's great for a daily driver. It did not cost as much as expected to build as most people think either.

As for the supercharged thing, I'm getting MS installed finally and dyno numbers will be updated once that is done. Last year untuned and running only 11psi of boost I hit about 220hp at the wheels, hopefully this year I will smash those numbers once MS is installed.

He got it from someone he knows if I remember right, they are on eBay once in a while.
Personally I was going to use a centrifugal supercharger and a mounting bracket I had fabbed for the AC mounting location. It would save a lot of time having to fab an intake and everything else.
I am still going to do this project but I needed a smaller supercharger so I sold mine to my brother and will most likely use a small vortech

He currently has a 2.4

While it is being a PITA, I'm sure if it came to it, another 2.4 would replace it.

:withstupid:
Currently Im running the 2.4 dohc however the bracket I have is made to fit where the 4 bolts of the AC compressor bolts to the block so it would run on any 2gn that has that AC plate.
