Hello folks!
Hello folks!
Hi folks...
Been lurking, reading and learning for a while... decided to join. I see some really great rides and a lot of expertise here. I have a question that I will post later in the 2gn general form.
The car is a 2001 Chrysler Neon LE that I picked up back in June for $2500 CDN. More info: Bone stock, 2.0 SOHC, ATX, 153,000k (95,600 miles) at purchase time, Steel Blue Metallic, very little rust (no holes) considering it has suffered through a few Canadian winters and salt roads. It runs very well... I'm quite pleased with it.
I've been going through it getting it into a maintenance state I know: Replaced front pads & rear shoes, changed oil, flushed & refilled coolant, changed plugs & spark plug wires, changed PCV, changed air filter, changed wiper blades.Tomorrow it goes in for ball joints & tie rods. Later I plan on changing the timing belt, water pump, ignition coil, battery, tranny oil and likely new tires next spring. Some of the lighter work I can do... the rest is left to the mechanics. The A/C isn't working, but that repair is a low priority item.
No mods... well, one small mod that I learned here: Disabled the automatic startup of the A/C when in defrost mode. Thanks for that! It came without the trunk lid carpet; however, I managed to find one in great shape at the junkyard... so that is installed.
Yes, I'm Canadian and live in the Ottawa area. Now for that question in the 2gn general forum...

Thanks for the welcome everyone!
Car is back from the shop... turns out they just had to replace the control arm bushings and do an alignment.
Next big item is to get the timing belt changed.
Yes, I'll post pix when I get a chance. No digital camera, so it may be a while. Yes, I'm still living in the stone age.
