BY FAR MY FAVORITE FERRARI.

You REALLY should have stuck around to hear her......If it's looks didn't get you all slimey in the shorts, the sound would have pushed you over.

Funny story......so I was doing light work settling a guys shop up in NJ last summer, he has an acct to repair the Ferrari, Maserati, Bentley dealerships cars if they get a blemish or whatever while they are enroute to the dealership or whatever.

So, while I'm working there, there are around 5 Ferrari's there, 2-3 Maserati's, and a Bentley or two getting rock chips fixed, scratches polished, etc. The owner wouldn't let me drive them, but I kept telling him I used to do it in Vegas for rental agencies, etc. So, one day, I ask him to let me take an F430 home to the Apt. I was staying in..laughingly......he says, yeah, right........then he say's, "I'll tell you what, if you can get it into reverse, you can take it home"........

BIG MISTAKE!

Now there is a trick to getting them into reverse (the F1 trans), but he didn't know that I had driven 360's before, and the trans layout is the same.

I take the key, shove it in, gas to the floor, push detent under gas pedal, lift gas, turn key on she fires up.........then, flick the itty bitty "T" handle on the console backwards, I look in the rear view at the reflective tinted glass behind me to see the reverse lights go on, and the owner stopps chuckling.......I backed it out, handed him the keys to the shop truck, and say I'd see him tomorrow at 7......haha. He totally let me take it. But, having driven these cars before, I knew better than to get stupid in it, I just babied it through the streets, I may have hit 90 on the Turnpike, but no more.

Good times...

I would have, but sadly i had somewhere to be, and that somewhere had money with my name on it and when you have no job money is more important then hearing a hot car start up and run.

eh its just a Ferrari.

lol.. Sorry. :)

I work in the middle of a whole community of home that cost on average 5 million dollars. My Parking lot at work has a couple of these, Lambos, Maserati's, etc.

Whats that line from gone in 60 seconds?

Roger the Car Salesman: My name's Roger, Sir. May I be of some help?
Memphis: That's funny, my name's Roger... Two Rogers don't make a right.
[laughs]
Memphis: Roger, I have a problem...
Roger the Car Salesman: Yes?
Memphis: I've been in L.A. for three months now. I have money, I have taste. But I'm not on anybody's "A" list, and Saturday night is the loneliest night for the week for me.
Roger the Car Salesman: Well, a Ferrari would certainly change that.
Memphis: Perhaps, Mmmm. But, you know, this is the one. Yes, yes yes... I saw three of these parked outside the local Starbucks this morning, which tells me only one thing. There's too many self-Indulgent wieners in this city with too much bloody money! Now, if I was driving a 1967 275 GTB four-cam...
Roger the Car Salesman: You would not be a self-indulgent wiener, sir... You'd be a connoisseur.
Memphis: Precisely. Champagne would fall from the heavens. Doors would open. Velvet ropes would part.

6 speed manual with automatic shifting and clutch. That phrase is the reason I hate supercars. F40 was the last real ferrari made and Esprit was the last real supercar made.

Funny, when I went through Heathrow a few times this summer, they had one of these parked right in the middle of Terminal 4. They also had an Aston Martin, I think. I had like an 8 hour layover, so I got a while to look at it.

Also, thought I'd throw this in. I stayed with a family in Belgium for a month in July, and they just happened to have a Lotus Elise. The last day I was there, the dad took me out for a spin. That was sweet. :D
