Aftermarket mirrors?

Got a question on outside appearance modifications. Questions about body kits, exterior lighting, just anything thats a visual mod on the "exterior" of the car. Ask those questions here.

Aftermarket mirrors?

Post by Arro » Tue Sep 11, 2007 7:13 pm

The OEM ones are rather plain. So I've been thinking about aftermarket mirrors. So far these are the ones I've looked at:

#1
Image

#2 (same as #1 but with LED turnsignals)
Image

#3
Image

#4 (same as #3 but with turn signals)

Looking for opinions, as well as any pictures of people's rides that have aftermarket mirrors.

Not interested in CF-style skin on them, but if your car has aftermarket CF style mirrors, I still want to see them.

If I were to go with a turnsignal-equipped set, I'd use amber.

Edit: hahah check these out:

are they of the "spraypainted carbonesque pattern" type? they look "meh" from a distance and horrible up close and nothing like real CF....

I've seen a couple of wheels here and there done like this and it's pretty bad.

Yeah the "CF" is a fake ghey style, not real. Looks like shittola when you have a big arse real CF hood on the car.

Pretty much but you can overlay some better CF looking vinyl ontop of it if you wanted :-? I know... pretty ghey but if you really want the look it's a thought.

I have a small roll of the better CF looking vinyl...

that vinyl print is actually one of the better that I've seen...

But really, carbon twill isn't that difficult to work with when your wrapping parts for cosmetic reasons, it's just messy and labor intensive to get it pretty.

I'm absolutely positive that if we bought a 50"x5yd roll and I showed you how to do it, you'd be wrapping every dam item in/on/around your car in CF... lol

I dont want CF tho... lol just black. With or without a turnsignal.

I just want to look a little less neon and a little more "wtf is that driving down the road" (but in a tastefull way, haterz don't jump on the opportunity there).

I agree, on both Laid's car and an elec. blue it's the way to go. But I have a RED car, and I worry it might look kinda ghey. I mean I'm not just red, I'm like two shades brigher than OEM red.

So I'm not gonna do it myself.

I like #3. Not into the turn signal in the mirrors thing, seems like just one more thing to go wrong or replace on top of being a bit of an eyesore.

Hmmm hadn't considered that. Plus I have no idea how to wire the turnsignals in (anyone shed some light on this?)

Painting my stock mirrors red will look ghey. You two are showcars with nice paint color choices, so it compliments them.

I dunno what I'll end up doing. But it's on the back burner now, because I want to finish the exhaust, and do something about sideskirts.
