Overhauling Project: Moi 2001 ___ 04+ conversion SHOW CAR

A couple months ago I bought my first car, a 2001 Neon LE.

I was gonna make a project log thread since I planned alot of cosmetic mods, suspension and brake mods and a couple engine things but my sony camera decided to die just like 3 weeks ago .... conveniently only 1 month after the warranty was up.

So at the moment I have no camera, but I do have before pics on the memory card from when it worked and I should get a camera soon so I can post after pics....unfortunately I missed out on the process pictures .... but don't fret... not all the mods are done yet.

Stuff done to my car over the past month:
- Kazera Lowering Springs. 1.5'' front and 1.4'' rear
- 04+ rear conversion
- 17'' Gunmetal Motegi MR4 wheels
- 2002 front bumper
- Head unit with subs and amp of course.
- Debadged

Mods coming before snow hits:
- Magnaflow catback
- Mopar rear lip
- Mopar side skirts
- Custom honda front lip
- Stubby antenna
- Omega bumper flares
- Custom headlights

Mods for 08 spring/summer
- Hood with custom scoop or srt-4 hood
- Skunk paint job
- Painted side mirrors
- Vinyl
- Cold air intake
- Srt-4 rear disc brakes
- Painted interior
- Headlight eyelids

I picked up a wings west 96 accord lip. Its gonna take some heavy duty modding but i'm up for the challenge.... hopefully I don't butcher it and have it end up in the garbage.

Er... if this is a daily driver you might want to consider a winter tire mod too before the snow hits.

Word, I have a set of blizzaks mounted on stock wheels waiting for snow.

And for the lip... I also have a secondary stock bumper in the garage that will go on when snow comes.

Theres no way its just gonna fit on there, gonna have to butcher it and mold it in with bondo and fiberglass.

50/50 chance that I will either end up in trash or it will work.

UPDATE #2

- Magnaflow catback rear section installed.

.... but I'm thinking about picking up a srt4 rear section because I want something louder.

And after burning the motor on a dremal and burning my arms a few times with liquid polyurethane the lip has been butchered and is ready to have the edges sanded smooth so that it can be bolted to the bumper, then it will be molded in with bondo and then fiberglassed over for strength, then sanded smooth again and then ready for paint.

oh and I forgot, new trunk lid coming soon too.
Nothing special... just a stock silver sxt trunk with the sxt spoiler on it.
Then my trunk shall be rust free !

And on another note, I want different rims, Im thinking about buying black wheels with polished lip.

Or I might be interested in trading a friend for his Fast Venom wheels in silver and NEON ORANGE/RED! ... thats right, i said neon orange/red, crazy yes, but it just looks so damn good on his silver neon.

Fast Venom wheels.

What do you think?

Just save for black with polished lip.

its all coming my friend.

I'm buying a 2004 silver sxt trunk lid with the sxt spoiler from a friend within the next few weeks for $100. The trunk has only seen 20,000km, he went carbon fiber after that and its been sitting in storage since.

that lip is actually going to look pretty farking sweet I think!

Nice one! Good choice on the pass for the wheels... Look into hypersilver or hyperblack finishes - either look schweeet on a silver car.

....gunmetal's overdone already and everyone has black...

i hope to have it bolted on tommorow and start the bodywork aspect on sunday, should really be studying for midterms though... we'll see.

And i'm also going to the dealer in the morning. My side skirts and lip kit are in!!!!

And don't be surprised to see omega bumper flares on the car over the weekend.

Picked up the lips, but they didn't have any more side skirts.

Oh well.... im thinkin about body kit style side skirts that I would take off for the snow ... and maybe even a kaminari or striker front end in summer 08

FFS!!!!

Someone hit my car and ran in a parking lot.

Damage isn't bad, some scratches and small crack on the rear bumper. Repairable with some bondo and paint, but I know I probabbly won't get it repaired, not enough damage for it to be worth getting repaired. But i'm still pissed.

This project is being overhauled:

I'm completely changing directions with this car, going for a show car look. It's getting colder and colder day and by the end of the month I won't want to work in my garage and snow should be here in late November, so most of the stuff will happen in spring.

I'm still gonna finish the custom lip, after that its either gonna be up for sale or keep it as a back up incase I ever fk up my front end.

What to expect in the spring:
-Kaminari or striker body kit
-2004+ front conversion
-17'' or 18'' black wheels with polished lip
-Custom fiberglass set up in the trunk with two 12'' subs, tv, amp, and two 6'' speakers.
-Fiberglassed interior panels + dash
-Some sort of decals
-Red underglow
-Srt4 rear disc brake conversion
-And possibly srt4 seats

Put it away for the winter in the garage then install a wood stove in the garage.

Then you can mess with it all winter.
