<-- has a grip of friends in that area

What job market are you looking to get into?

The average rent is up there but not outrageous, really. Just like anywhere else. It's all about location and luxury.

The club scene is decent. There is alot of touristy stuff to do but it's a beautiful area and close to lots of action so I am sure you will find something to fit your style. It's not all cowboy hats, spurs and Mexicans. There is alot of that but there is alot more too. Seems to be alot of Supras in the area too. Lots of high horsepower in Texas.

Go rent "Full Metal Jacket", watch it tonight and then come back and see what's up.

And Texas is great. I would live there.

I might be bringing my Neon with me and selling it up there.

Looking for a Q45 up there. Hahah, finally after 4 years I might be able to make it to a Neon meet.

I have lived on and off in the Houston area my whole life. Rent is cheap depending where you look, the farther away from the city you are the less rent is. Most people live in the suburbs (Spring, Katy, Conroe, Pasadena, Conroe, Tomball, Rosenburg, Humble, etc.) Stay away from the cheap apartments because thats where a lot of the crime went to live after Katrina and Rita. Theres a lot to do depending on what you like. The highway system here is awesome but we have a lot of traffic. We have 2.5 loops around the city plus I45 and 59 that make an X in downtown and I10 that runs east-west in the middle, makes it easy to get from a-b. We do have the worst traffic in the country (59 from Rosenburg to Houston has over 450k cars daily), however once you live here for a while you get used to it and learn the back roads around it. The beach is less than an hour away as well, if you like going there. Minute Maid Park is right off of 59 in downtown if you like baseball. You can actually drive to Modern Performance as well if you need stuff for your Neon.

Over all I think you would like it.

Well, my wife and I moved from Michigan to here in Spring, Texas too. The job market is always booming down here.. Let me know what you are intrested in working in. I have a house down here and its that bad for houseing.. As for the club scene, there is a lot of clubs downtown and a few around Spring. Hope this helps out..
