fast fabs header and shifter cable love
fast fabs header and shifter cable love
anyone else have their shifter cables practically laying on the #1 cylinder primary of the fast fabs header? i was thinking of using some ss ties to pull it away, but can't see anyplace to tie the cables to!!! pics of anyone's install.
ooh...there's a glimmer of the dream left!!!
i'll take a look and see if there's something around there that'll work. thanks for the replies.03blackrt wrote:Here's my solution. Since my coolant bottle wouldn't fit I used the stud for it on the firewall to attach a bracket, which came frome somewhere else on the car, but I have no idea where. Then I put three tie straps around the cables.

i just wrapped mine with heat wrap, then the aluminized heat tape, and ran em up pretty tight int he tunnel, grantd i have more room in my tunnel.
i know a bunch of ppl ran the cables inside the car and out the firewall about where 03 black bolted the strap down for his, filled the hole with a small steel plate to keep it nhra legal...i'll see if i can dig up some pix and shoot em over to you.

My coolant bottle stayed put. Here's a couple pics of what mine looks like.
Before zip ties..

And....well, hm. I just looked, but I can't find the picture once they're zip tied. I simply tied the two cables together, and it was enough to pull the one that had been resting on the header off of the tube with about 1/4" of clearance.

I love it actually, it is a beast, love the way it looks and sounds, and the performance gain was by far the best, it gave me about 7 whp from before. (oh yeah, that includes cat delete)
