installing 98 r/t springs....questions afterwards

Post by weber » Mon Jun 06, 2005 2:20 pm

I have had them installed for some time now...but they are really annoying with how high the front end still is, looks funny.

I cut and removed half the bump stop...should i have removed the whole thing?

its kinda hard to tell. thats why im asking if other guys who have done this completely removed the bump stop or just cut it in half.

does it look really uneven to you?

if your sitting on the bumpstops and then remove them....your are gonna bottom out and thats how you mess up your struts.

did you put the front springs in the rear by chance? (no offence, but that does look pretty funny :) )

I put 1997 ACR springs on my car, my rear is very low but I would like my front to be lower it kinda looks like yous but different.

Try switching the springs in front with those in the back.

If that don't work spend the cash an go with eibach.

they had it labeled on neons.org, and i put the right part numbers in the right place. So i know they are installed right. They ride great, not bouncy and not over stiff. Im just wondering why the hell it sits so funny. I never heard of them looking that bad

lowered mine on 1st springs as well, but i didnt cut/mod anything, simply replaced the springs, its not sitting higher, look at the difference in the hieght of your front fenderwell compared to the rear (reference point, look at your side molding, front is way higher) even though your car now sits level...

something you guys need to keep in mind is the fact that the front wheel well opening is MUCH larger than the rear wheel well opening.

my picture is actually at a horrible angle. Mine sits just like yours, so now i see that its just the way it is.

Thanks for posting that, thats all i needed to see.
