For starters, your CEL is on...
Second, your monitors have to be set to pass inspection let alone if your CEL(Check Engine Light) is on that will fail you...
Get your P code from the car to find out why your CEL is on....
Turn the key on,off,on,off,on and see what pops up on your odometer as the "P" code...
P0184
P1381 etc..etc..

there is no "o2" light, if there's a problem with an o2 sensor, the check engine light comes on. is it a solid red light, not an outline of anything, in the upper right corner of the cluster? if so, that's sentry, i believe. and that's the only solid light i can recall on our clusters. what year is your car? there's a possibility that your car doesn't have sentry, and had the cluster replaced from a car that did have sentry. just a possibility. what color is your key? if it's black, you don't have sentry. (sentry is a security feature, btw).

if this is the case, your easiest fix is to take the unnecessary light out of the cluster. it won't pop codes, and should let you pass inspection/emmisions.

yess! it is a solid red light... the dmv said my O2 senor needed to be reset and that was the only light on so i just assumed... but i have a 2000 es and i put a new cluster with the tach in... and i have a black key... so is it the lights thats cause the O2 to not be ready... or are they not even related... how do i fix the O2?

that little RED SOLID round light on the right hand side in a 2000 is the AIRBAG light / Sentry . turn off the car and cycle the keys if no codes are thrown start it back up. light still ok then it is an AIR bag problemm. or PERHAPS a sentry problem.....

The BLACK key means your DONT have a sentry car, but the dash with the TACH came from a car with sentry system.... meaning NOTHING your DMV is a douche. :beatstick:

If you cant pull the codes yourself, goto autozone and have them pull the codes for you and post them here....

That little red light will not fail you for inspection...

IIRC, the airbag has a separate light... the red round light is just as stated above, nothing but a sentry indicator light... like also stated above, your dmv IS a douche.
