i think at one point the guy on here with the fairly stock salsa red with over 100,000 on it (i can't think of his name, but i have a feeling it was nitehawk or something like that) did that to his tires or at least did a PS of it on there...

does anyone remember who i am talking about? i think he got a new car and hasn't been around for awhile. but i bet that thread is still here somewhere...

moparknighthawk

I believe he sprayed those on there mainly for a race purposes when everyone has to use a specific tire... I forget the exact reason but they had to do the same thing for One Lap of America.

i would love to have my original tire from my Motorsport. Goodyear Eagle #1 tires w/ the yellow lettering. They looked great but the letters faded over time. And they haven't made them in a few years now.

they make something like a "tire pen" that i have seen in yellow and white before. it allows you to write, with paint, on the lettering that you want to stand out. i think duplicolor makes it.

EDIT: here is what i was talking about

Sorry not for me. I hate putting white letter out on customers cars when they ask for it I could never do it to mine. It belongs on hotrods, and IMO only looks good on hotrods

Hmmm, i'd be on the fence about this one. Some cars can pull of small white lettering on the tires, but i think on those Hondas up there the letters are too bold.

When you say colored letters I can't think of anything else but big rigs. They do it all the time for shows:

White letters on tires - are absolutely ugly. Some kind of "1983"...

Whats up dude. Hey, nice car.

How's the edumacatin' business treating you? Hope all is well.

Oh, and I really KINDA' like the wheel letter thing. Its gotta' be on the right vehicle. It is VERY race/track/competition....not show.

heh not going ricer... i'm just going back to the colored lettering that the factory tires had when i bought it. Which was yellow(look at the pic that i posted), and it should work out aight since the words on the tires are nice and small not like that pic on the top of the post.

it looks good..only if ur rocking lightweight 15's...thick beefy tires...(and good tires i might add)....and ur slammed on coilovers.......if ur building a showy car w/ a bodykit..i wouldn't advise it.....maybe a lip kit..nothing more...it needs to be clean..similar to a JDM style...

The Hondas are great looking cars. I just dont see bringin' back something my dad did on his track cars in the 60's.

Next, guys will be coloring in the letters on their WalMart brand tires.

Hello,

Saw your posts about tire lettering and wanted to add mine. These are my mid-season wheels and tires on my car so these will be stored soon and be replaced by my winter Graspics in a month or so. I had many comments on how the white letters look good on the tire and matches the car. One even commented that it has a muscle car look due to the tires. :quotes: Enjoy
