Calling All 00-02 Black Neons

Got a question on outside appearance modifications. Questions about body kits, exterior lighting, just anything thats a visual mod on the "exterior" of the car. Ask those questions here.

Calling All 00-02 Black Neons

Post by SOHCKing03 » Tue Oct 09, 2007 1:53 pm

Post up some pictures of what you have done! I looked through the garage and found a lot of cool mods but not many good pictures.

Things like:
- headlights
- taillights
- body kits
- any custom work
- rims (specifically black)

I just wanna see what all looks good on black neons.

Thanks

-Brad

Wow, two very nice looking Neons!

Diablo0...
I like the clean look you have going there. Nothing is gawdy and everything flows well. And I love those taillights. They look great on your car.

Kornholio...
For being a show car, your car looks VERY nice. Too much chrome for me, but man do you pull it off well. I love your lighting too. I had a blue/white theme in my Stratus but I'm going with green/white in the neon. Several 12" cold cathodes kits are on the way and I have a few already here. I'm also diggin the air ride.

Thanks for the pics guys. A lot of good things there. I'm gonna construct a list of parts and mods I would like from front bumper to back bumpr. Fog lights, Niteshade, rims, exhaust, seats, taillights, turbos! God this site gives me too many ideas.

But keep them coming lol!

If so, how many coats of Niteshade did you use? Did you clear coat it? Did you sand down the lettering?

Those taillights look amazing... seriously.

To be honest... that widebody is not that bad on a black Neon.

I also like the taillights.

What are those things in front of the rear deck?

yes, i used 3-4 coats of nightshades and then 2 coats of clear. after 2 years the nightshades is starting to fade... it hasn't dulled and it looks even... just lighter though

Did you use just your average clear coat spray that can be found at a local Home Depot?

Yeah Kevin your car is pretty much the reason why I started this thread lol.

I am loving your engine build. How much power are you putting out?

Thanks man. I am at 8 psi on the stock block which should be north of 200 hp, plan to bump it up to 10 psi and put it on a dyno and find out. At 10 psi I should be around 250 hp/tq comparing everyone else's builds. Not really messing with the stock block anymore because I have a built block just sitting in my apartment waiting to be installed

The manifold is Lonewolf and yes it is better than R/T by far for turbo'd cars. It uses a mustang TB flange so you can use throttle body's up to 80mm. The manifold pulls alot harder/smoother in boost than my r/t manifold did. The downside is there is less power outside of boost but nothing I miss.

The headlights I made myself, I retrofitted bosch single xenon projectors into a set of depo headlights. I custom made the shroud and painted it flat black.
