w00t! 20/20 Vision!!!! :D
I've been wanting to have LASIK for a good while now so yesterday I finally did it. Just got back from my follow-up visit to make sure everything looks good and I'm sitting at 20/20 vision one day after surgery and they said it may get a little better as it heals
For the first time since I was probably 10 years old in 5th grade, I can see well without wearing glasses.
Some of the best money I've ever spent, well... am spending since I financed it lol.

Procedure was pretty painless other than the suction ring they put on your eye to make the eye hard so they can cut the flap. I had the intralase which is the bladeless and I also had the Wavefront. Cost was $4400 total out the door while other places go as low as 899 per eye but that didn't include custom wavefront, bladeless, enhancements, etc... The reason I went with this place over the others when the other places were cheaper is for one, this place here had ZERO infections out of all that they've ever done and overall everyone has good reviews of the place. The surgeon is a perfectionist, to the point that she's almost a nut but when it comes to vision and her being a perfectionist I take that as a good thing since it's pretty imporant, at least to me lol.
Initial pain, other than some brusing on my right eye that hurts a little, nada, no pain really at all or dryness in either eye for that matter. I have to put 4 different types of drops in for the next week tapering off certian drops up until a month after surgery but nothing too bad. Right now I have a little bit of haze to my vision around lights and bright objects like anything that is white but they said that go away in 2 weeks and totally by the end of the month as my cornea heals up and smooths out.
No real pan during surgery either, they used the same numbing drops as they do for their cataract surgeries so I didn't feel anything other than some pressure. I was really worried about it since I'm not one that can touch my eye very (reason why I didn't go with contacts) but I went through just fine...
I think I was about a -3.5 in each eye...

Nice Jason, I am sure it'll be nice to not have to drag your glasses everywhere. Night driving should be alot better for you too!

Cograts!, I had mine done in '98. Technology is much better now. My eyes were -9 and -8. They would not guarantee 20/20 but I actually had 20/15 for awhile afterward. It isn't quite as good now but I still don't need glasses. Money well spent, no more worring about roller coasters, whitewater rafting, etc. It took a while for the haze at night to go away, but things are much better now. I'm almost tempted to have a tune-up.

Probably shouldn't listen to anything your penis says, that guy's a dick.
Too much time spent here is a sign of a bad case of Ownaneonvirus.Patience, of course, is a very powerful weapon, but sometimes I start to regret that it is not a firearm.

shoot, i never thought about glasses in a helmet. blah
ive wore sunglasses but my sunglasses are a little more robust than my eye glasses
glad to hear the surgary went good jason. i guess i will be working on getting it done when my eyes get a little worse. its just enough right now to be blurry in the middle of a lecture hall, so when it gets worse i will be looking into it.

occasional demons mentioned it, did they tell you or did you ask about future changes to your eyes and how it would affect the lasik?
get a pair of glasses and a few years later you might need stronger ones
what happens when you drop $4000+ on lasik? eyes can still change... drop another 4K to get it corrected again?
i would like lasik but cant afford it :p

Thanks everyone!
They said when you get into your 40s your eyes start to change again where the lens of your eye starts to harden so you become farsighted since you can't bend the lenes to focus on things up close. There isn't anything that can stop that, LASIK or not it will happen. I also have lifetime enhancement so if my vision changes again in 5 years or even 10 years I can get them corrected again. My vision hasn't changed much at all in the past 5 years where when I went in to get my eyes examined eariler this year since my previous glasses were a good 3 years old I think, they said the only real thing I would get from the visit was to get a new prescription to get a new pair of glasses. They do tell people (at least where I went) to only have it done if your vision hasn't changed in the past few years since like you said, you could have it done now but in 2 years you could be back to where you were if your eyes are still changing.
It's just so amazing that you can go from not being able to hardly see the E and 15min later read everything just fine without the need of glasses or contacts.

less than 15min for the surgery but I had to be there for 2-3 hours since they had to take measurements and also a 2-3 hour consult a few weeks before surgery day where they dialated my eyes and took measurements. Anyone tries to dialate my eyes I'm going to punch them in the kidney!
