Vibration.....
I am having this really bad vibration in the steering wheel from about 65mph and up. I know it is not my wheels/tires, they are brand new. A guy at my work says it could be that the drive axle is out of balance. Has anybody heard of this or had this problem. I think the car has been wrecked on the r/f. Any ideas guys/gals? Thanks!!

Just cause the wheels and tires are brand new doesn't mean they're not the culprit. It sounds to me like one (or more) of your wheels is out of balance, which would not be suprising at all, for two reasons. One, depending on who did the balancing, they simply might not be balanced well enough. Two, when low profile tires are mounted on big wheels like you have, some slimy goop is put on the tires to help them go on easier without damaging the rims. If too much of the goop gets inside the tire, the balance of the wheel/tire will change after you start driving on it and it sloshes to a different part of the wheel. I'd drive it some more (depending on how much you've already driven on it..enough to let the slime settle down) and then have the wheels rebalanced.

If you have aftermarket wheels, the installer may not have taken off the retaining clip used to hold the brake rotors on during production. This is a common mistake. If you take off your wheels, and find a thin, inverted, lock-washer thing stuck on one of your wheel studs, remove this and put your wheels back on. The factory wheels are notched out for it, aftermarket wheels are not. Neons are very sensitive to tire balance, so it may also be possible that your tires are not balanced good enough. Your car could also have an alignment problem, as excess front toe-in can cause your car to shake a little at highway speeds. Check these things in the order I presented.

I know for a fact it is not the wheels/tires. I am the one who installed them. I work for Discount Tire Co. I did take the brake clips off. And I have re-balanced the wheels like 4 times already. I plan on having the alignment done next week, cause my steering wheel is pretty crooked(spelling?) I hope this works. Ill let ya know. Thanks for the replies guys.
