New truck...

Well, I've been looking for truck that I can use as more of a winter "beater" if you will, so that I don't have to take the neon out in nasty weather. I found this '89 Mitsu Montero on ebay, and ended up getting a great deal on it. I actually just won the auction this evening. I'll be picking it up next week probably... I can't wait.

Looks like the ultimate winter "beater". Damn its clean though, with some tint that would be perfect! I hope its not an auto though?

Nope. It's a 5-speed.

It has the 3.0L V6 too.

It's been in California for most of its life, so the body is very clean. No rust at all. It has about 200k miles on the chassis, and the engine was rebuild about 40k miles ago. With a little TLC it should keep running for a very long time still.

The superswamper tires are going to have to go bye-bye though...

Well... I'm not sure if I'll be getting the truck or not. The dude that I bought it from backed up into it while it was parked in his driveway. It pushed in the driver's door and door frame. So, right now I'm just waiting to hear back from him about how long it's going to take to get it fixed.

Hopefully, he can get it fixed back up. It kinda sucks for him though, because it will probably cost just as much to fix it as he was going to sell it to me for.

Hopefully I can still get it...

Or he's lying because he doesn't want to sell it for as cheap as you bought it. Ask him for pictures of the new damage...I bet he doesn't have any.

for sure. if he doesn't provide pics, report his ass to e-bay and send them all corespondence you have with him (hopefully he told you of the accident in e-mails). altho if there was a reserve, he shouldn't have a problem letting go of it. good luck, that's one good lookin short ass suv.
