dude i have the same probleme and i have a ATX. does it seem like it stumbles on cold starts. might want to check the spark plugs and plug cables. also your battery clamps might have corrosion in between the clamps so check those and clean them.

If you purchased the car less than 3 years ago, and it has less than 36000 miles, take it to the dealer and have them deal with it.

This idle/stalling problem is one of the biggest compliants against the Caliber also, looks like DCX hasn't figured it out either! Maybe they should go back to the stepper motor?

Probably shouldn't listen to anything your penis says, that guy's a dick.
Too much time spent here is a sign of a bad case of Ownaneonvirus.Patience, of course, is a very powerful weapon, but sometimes I start to regret that it is not a firearm.

The cause of the stalling and intermittant hard starting problem is your fuel pump & starter relays under the hood! They start to fail in about five years! I have a 2002 SXT & battled with this for 2 1/2 years until I stuck the horn relay in the starter spot and fixed that problem. When the fuel pump stopped working, Idid the same thing & fixed that. These relays have since been replaced with no further problems. Hope this helps. Chargerse

He's reffering to the black relay's located in the PDC under the hood. You will see a string of like 5 of them, and there all interchangeable. The fuel pump relay is the one located close to the fender in the pdc, swap that with something like the A/C clutch relay or the Horn relay like he mentioned and see what happens...

i looked in the manual and it doesnt seem like the neons fuel system has a fuel filter. its more like a strainer that comes complete in a master kit sold with fuel pump, sender assembly, and strainer. so how is anyone supposed to replace a filter when its really not a filter and you cant really replace just the filter.
also by the PDC under the hood your reffering to the fuse box between the bat and driver fender.

The problem you guys are having is the same one I had with my '02 SXT. the starter, & fuel pump relays are going south on you guys. It took me nearly 2 years to figure it out. Also, Igot my AC working again by replacing the relay on it, too. By the way, they are under the hood(bonnet for you Brits)and cost $13.60 at the dealer(over $22 at auto parts stores).
