HRC II

Post by srt4mike » Sat Oct 27, 2007 12:07 pm

What kind of HP are people safely achieving on stock internals? How many PSI would you recommend, and what are most people running (16g or 20g)? What is the difference in spool up times for the two? Sorry for all the n00b ass questions? Any info is GREATLY appreciated!

On an SRT engine? Your stock motor can handle every bit as much power as either turbo can put out. With supporting mods, I would expect to see about 375 hp on the 16g, or 425 with the 20g. Pump gas, that motor could handle about 20psi with stock timing maps most likely. Racing fuel, 23psi would do OK on the 16g, or 26psi on the 20g. Difference in spool times would be about 150-200 RPM. If you're looking to make more power than a stage 3 SRT, the 16g won't be much better than what you have.

Now on a stock internal 2.0, I would keep it under 230whp or so, which would be like 8-9psi with either turbo. If you plan to keep the motor stock and never build it, the 16g is the better option simply because it will spool sooner, and is still more than adequate to overboost the stock motor.

See the post I made about the new kits we'll be offering as well. It's a more capable and affordable system than the ones you are looking at for a 2.0. Not saying HRC is junk, but your car will be faster if you're trying to do this on a 2.0 with our kit than theirs.

Awesome info! I should have specified what motor. I am looking at getting a 2 gen ACR or R/T and boosting it for my fiance. I will probably end up modding the internals though. I want stock internals and mild boost . . . she wants around 300 hp. It's going to be mainly hers, so she wins. Thanks again for the great info!

you got my pm's :D Let me know ;)

Also, heck yeah if the price is right I would part with her. I love the ACR, but in all honesty it is not what I want --- I want turbo, and would prefer AWD ;) :D
