Metal Work... (TEMPORARILY DOWN, SORRY)

Post by Hudson_Neon » Mon Oct 29, 2007 3:38 am

ok, well i got a lot going on in life right now. i'm going to finish up the orders that i have right now and take a break. between family, school, and work there's just too damn much going on. as soon as i get stuff straightened out i'll take more orders. i'm sorry if anybody had plans to make an order any time soon. i recently even had to temporaroly turned down a business offer.

post up or pm me which of these you guys are interested in and that will decide whether or not i go through with producing the parts. I'M OPEN TO IDEAS. if you have something that you see for sale for an ungodly amount let me know and i'll see what i can do. i'll post up pics as soon as possible. ALL PARTS WOULD BE TEST FIT ON MY CAR BEFORE SHIPPING!

OK HERE'S THE DEAL. AS OF RIGHT NOW I CAN START TAKING A SMALL AMOUNT OF ORDERS FOR STRUT BARS AND CATCH CANS. IF I GET TOO MANY AT ONCE I'LL POST UP THAT I NEED TIME TO FINISH THE FIRST ONES BEFORE I CAN TAKE MORE. WE'LL START WITH 2 PEOPLE ORDERING AT A TIME

$130 SHIPPED FOR BOTH STRUT BARS

FRONT STRUT BAR: $70 SHIPPED
Image

Image

Image

REAR STRUT BAR: $70 SHIPPED
Image

Image

Image

Upper, lower and trans coming soon

coming as soon as i get this bushing thing figured out

CATCH CAN: $40 SHIPPED (i can make to mount any place you want)
Image

everything would be BARE or BLACK till i can get the business rolling and then paint to order. then prices will then very depending on cost of paint. anybody who would want their previously purchased parts painted to order could do so for the cost of the paint (no shipping). i would deduct the cost of you shipping the part back from the paint cost, then I would pay to ship it back.

also, we'll see how much i gain from my head, but if you just happen to have a spare head laying around i might be willing to work with you on doing the porting and polishing. no guarantees though.

My Feedback-http://forum.2gn.org/viewtopic.php?t=25160

AS I AM IN NO WAY A BIG TIME SHOP WITH ROBOTS DOING ALL THE CUTTING AND WELDS, I CAN'T WARRANTY ANYTHING. IF FOR SOME REASON SOMETHING GOES WRONG JUST LET ME KNOW I'D I'LL FIX IT AT THE EXPENSE OF SHIPPING IT TO ME. I'LL SHIP IT BACK.

i never thought of that. for what vac. lines cost i guess it doesn't matter. if i gave the option i guess most people would go with
including them.

yeah, i'd say so. the reason behind me going and doing these was cause i saw other companies charging upwards of $130 before paint and shipping. granted they have rubber bushings, but fron what i've gathered that doesn't justify $130.
Supermanneon wrote:"How safe would those mounts be?" in your picture there on your car so are you using them all the time?
by safe if you mean solid, oh yeah ther're very tough. but they ARE 100% solid. they rattle the car alot. and no i don't have them on my car all the time. this particular style i could only see used in racing. i AM talkin to a couple companies about rubber bushings though.

well to this date i've put somewhere around 135 miles on mine. mostly highway. i DID try to redesign them, so they're a little bit apart right now. and as of now i'm just gonna stick with the origional design

we're talkin when accelorating... from 1000 to 3000 rpm ALOT. every little bit of vibration from the engine goes to the body.

is the finished product going to look as crudely done as the test parts? or are you going to take your time welding the MM's (at least the top 1)? also, what is the ID of the MM mounting holes in comparison to the OD of the bolts? w/o bushings, i'd be worried about the mount rotating on the bolt and clunking with every shift or stomp of the pedal (or snapping bolts).

yes. i will be taking more time on everything as far as looking nice.

i havn't ever tried the mount on an srt so i don't honestly know if it would snap the bolt. with a 2.0 pretty much stock i was able to roast 'em about 1/2 way through 2nd 10-12 times.

the ID of the mounts is JUST big enough to fit the bolt through. so there's NO clunking. just lots of vibrations.

awesome on all counts. i'm pretty sure a srt would snap the bolts pretty quick with no bushings at all. stock, i snapped the upper that goes into that little block on the motor w/o even launchin hard with bwoody's with bushings.

on a side note, how'd you manage to roast 2nd for 3k rpm's stock? mine never even so much as chirped 2nd, and i refuse to believe solid mounts take away traction like that. i'm assuming you're on balding tires?

no, no balding tires. i pushed it to redline in 1st and slammed into 2nd. the road was slightly moist though. it had rained in the morning and you could still see the moisture in the indentations in the asphault.

on the note of bushings i'm talkin to jeff b. cause he lives just down the road from me.

What kind of plasma are you looking at getting and how much are you looking to spend? I may have consumables that I can get rid of and MAY be interested in selling my Esab if the price is right.

Right on. That thing will be perfect for 1/8" and smaller cuts. the ones I work with we use on 3/4" armor so they are monsterous in comparison. But that one is good for sheet metal and piping. Make sure to keep consumables around cause they chew through them. But damn.... its one of the best inventions EVER :D

got a start on the trans mount tonight. this one will end up being a ton harder than the others. but i got a feeling that when i'm done, for some reason a few people will want one. i'm once again going to be forced to change how the mounts look. i'm talkin to a company about polyurithane bushings.

once i get everything under control i think how i'm gonna start this out is that you would order what you want, then gimme about 2 weeks to get it to your door. being that it's all custom hand made, it might take a little bit to fab the parts up, test fit them, paint them, and ship them. i know it would be easier to stock them. but most of the parts are enough metal to put a dent in my pocket book so to start off i'll end up doing it that way.

but please wait untill i say go...
