dangle a piece of string from the top part of the fender and have someone else pull on the bottom of it to make sure the string is tight (to get an accurate reading)... then get a ruler and measure the distance from the outer lip of the rim to the string.... that will give you the distance needed to make the wheel flush with the fender.
for example: i measured 1"-1.5" with my stock 16" wheels. thats the equivalent of 25.4mm-38.1mm. i think these spacers were designed to achieve correct offset when purchasing new rims.... the 3, 5, or even 8mm spacer clearly isnt thick enough to get stock rims to sit flush.

Very correct. I have 1" wheel spacers on with my SRT wheels in the rear, and it brings the wheels out flush. On the left side, the tire actually rubbed on the fender a little, so I ground about .25" off the inside lip of the fender well. Now it barely rubs, and only once in a while. I would recommend spacers close to an inch thick for the rear if you actually want the wheels out flush.tamadrumr88 wrote:the 3, 5, or even 8mm spacer clearly isnt thick enough to get stock rims to sit flush.

you dont need anything else. they bolt onto the hub using special (supplied) lug nuts, and then your wheel bolts on like normal.
they are hubcentric, so they are a very nice spacer.

The 1" rear spacers are exactly as Louie said. The front spacers are only .5" though, which is not deep enough to use that design. That's why I need longer wheels studs (as I mentioned in another post). I can get longer wheels studs from the same place I got the spacers, but they are insanely expensive. I might still have to shell out for them, but I'm trying to find something cheaper first. So, right now, only the rear spacers are on my car.

Nope, I'm the second owner, and it had a clean Carfax, as well as the previous owner saying that it had never been wrecked or damaged in any way. I think it's just a Neon thing, because my brother's '02 that I posted a picture of has the same spacers installed on the rear also, and it has the same problem. It's not as big of a problem though, because his car isn't lowered. But, never the less, the left rear wheel sets out farther than the right rear wheel. It wouldn't suprise me if lots of neons are like that, but you never know unless you put aftermarket wheels on them.tamadrumr88 wrote:was your car ever in an accident (that you know of)?quicksilvr wrote:The entire rear end doesn't seem to be centered in the body of the car perfectly because with the exact same spacers on both sides, the left rubbed bad and the right didn't rub at all.
