hey i'm looking at a 4 inch straight pipe exhaust comes with a silencer and i'm just wondering does the silencer really silence it? like i realize a 4 inch straight pipe will be loud but with the silencer will i still get a noise?

4" is overkill. But i'm sure that you will still get a lot of noise.

Any glasspacks? resonators?

where are you finding a 4" straight pipe exhaust? I'm pretty sure it isn't for a neon...Maybe it has a 4" can on it? but not 4" piping.

Oh, that's just a ricer muffler. Sure, it will work just fine. Your car will sound like a bee buzzing around, and it will have no performance advantage.

I'm looking to get one of these fart cans as well, and I want to know if the silencers do anything. My friend has a fart can on his RSX Type-S and it sounds mean....he took off the silencer.

A muffler is better than the SRT rear section in my situation.

If you use steel wool while placing the silencer inside the can it will help. I used to have the Apexi N1 system (when they first came out) when I was NA.

I miss my neon at times. She treated me well and taught me a lot about cars in general. I will always have a special place in my heart for these cars. Heres to the 2gn community.

the large fart cans are usually really raspy and annoying.

they may be the cheap option... but they will also sound cheap.

I would look into something in the borla line or one that i prefer.. the Vibrant Dual Exhaust ( http://modernperformance.com/dcx/neonvib00.shtml )
