Help! Hood fitment
Just bought an IP2 cf hood, and my gaps on the sides (near fenders) suck! Are the any adjustments to align it better?

What you have to do is loosen both sides and pull the side thats short (passenger side) to the front just slightly, tighten the bolts, close the hood slowly to make sure you aren't going to hit anything and check your gaps. You've just gotta do that over and over until it's perfect. It's easier with two people incase you are trying to do it alone. If it isn't closing all the way, or the hood is loose when it is fully latched you will have to adjust your hood latch by loosening to bolts through the grill (may have to take the grill out, not sure with '03+), adjust as necessary, tighten it back up... and do that until it's down and the top of the hood is even with the tops of the fenders.
Keep in mind, no hood is perfect. I've had two RD CF hoods, a JSP (XR8 lidds) CF and this Kaminari CF hood. The Kaminari fits by far the BEST out of any of them, it's right up there with stock hood fitment and I get my compliments on how well it looks. Next would be the JSP but he edges aren't rolled or covered so they don't look too appealing but the actual finish looks great. The RD was the worst, the epoxy was crap on both of them that I had (fogging, airbubbles), actual fitmint wasn't too bad, the first one I had it stuck up really high in the rear... I'd only consider the RD if you are going to paint it and use it just for weight redux.
Basic thing to remember with CF... you get what you pay for.
Other than that... it just takes time and a lot of tweaking. On my CF trunk it took me several hours and still didn't get it perfect, thats when I just asked a body shop to do it for me haha

If you have the hood all the way up, loosen the bolts and lift the passenger side up... if it wont' go anymore you'll have to push the drivers side down to atleast make the gaps even on both sides. On the passenger side, if you have a large gap near closest to the windshield and a narrow gap near the headlight that side needs to be pulled toward the car or the driver side needs to be moved towards the windshield, sometimes both depending on if it's very bad. If you do have to move it a lot just make sure to watch your gaps on the sides when you close it so you don't come down on one of the fenders.
And if you can't move the hood any farther b/c the holes aren't large enough then it sounds like it's a bad hood b/c the holes weren't positioned correctly when it was made. In that case you could either ask for a replacement... or start dremeling out the holes on the hinges to make the oblong.
