The alternative is if your camera has exposure / EV settings, you can raise them and it brings out your car from the shadows more. But generally speaking, using light behind the car sillouhetts it and that isn't good.
besides, a black car with blacked out tails should be shot from the other side so we can see the light *reflect* off of it
