lower belt gard

Post by nate-00neon » Tue Nov 20, 2007 10:31 am

hey i was wondering if any of you guys have a belt gart that monts to your lower motor mount??
because whenever it rains a lot or snows water gets into the belt and makes it slip...idk if that was just the belt or what...i get new belts now and i dont remeber if it has made the noise sense, but i was just wondering if anyone has one on thier car.

Have or installed? I have them but not installed  But yah, there is a guard there to keep road debris and water away from the belts.

I live in Canada and I found in the winter it made things worse having it on , with the guard on it would get snow in the there and make the belt slip, but the damn guard would hold the snow in there, without it on it happens almost as often, but it dosen't get held in there and only slips for a brief moment. The snow plows around where i live are just stupid at times, they decide sometimes they don't want to plow the roads, lol and i don't just mean during a storm, I mean during the day when its sunny out sometimes.

I've had my engine bay packed with snow and slush and nothing slips at all, even with the UDP. Sounds like you guys got other problems.

i didn't think that the snow was any different from my side of the state to yours... but either way, mine doesn't either and i havn't had any problems. as a matter of fact i think that it might end up worse off cause it'll hold snow.

but you shouldn't be plowing the driveway with a neon anyway :D
