Well it wasn't in my plans for anytime soon, but someone on another forum is selling his Exhaust Depot Side Exit Exhaust for $350 shipped. Its in excellent condition with only 5k miles on it. Its a full 3'' system with 3'' downpipe with 3 inch 02. and a resonator. Has a place for a wideband too.
The dude is returning his car back to stock so thats why he is selling.
http://www.exhaustdepot.net/esfsiexex.html
Looks like they sell it for $375 brand new, plus shipping of course... Whats a 3'' 02 housing?

I hear that a lot but I never knw what it is? Is it just a place to put the 02 sensor on the downpipe? Used context clues. lmao.
Sounds like a good deal? Offer a bit lower? Thoughts on said system?
I am working on Saturday getting paid time and a half for 8 hours, PLUS its a 5 week pay month!
.
Thanks!

I had a friend tell me that local muffler shops can fab up a nice system if you provide the downpipe for a good price.

dont do the side exit exhaust.. It is waaaay to loud. You won't be able to hear yourself think.
I had the ED SEE with a Resonator and I just recently had an exhaust shop in town reroute it to the rear.

It is pointing out, pretty close to the driver...
Not really a fan of having cutouts with no exhaust, would have to roll my bumper...
How loud is loud in your opinion? I remember you were talking about solid MM's and how bad the vibration would be, but I don't feel that much vibration at all.
Is it only loud under WOT? When I drive normal I keep it under 2500 rpms. I just have intake and stage 1 and stock boost....
Throw out ideas, this would be a huge purchase on my half.

its so loud that it messed up the dyno.
Its waaay to fucking loud.
And the vibrations from solid motor mounts are fine if you like hearing your keys jingle and every last bit of change rattle.

Thats the first thing I noticed when I got em installed. I also hear my transmission, like I can hear everything turning and shit.

So getting a loud exhaust might fix that.
How would I go aobut going to a muffler shop and getting a custom setup? Get a similar setup I like and show them pictures etc? I would have to provide a downpipe though correct? Single exit out the back is what I would really like.
$350 is the max I want to spend on an exhaust system. I want 3'' all the way. I just don't know if that is possible.

if you don't jump on im going to pm him about buyin the o2 housing. that's a hell of a price for an almost restriction free true turbo back exhaust. the o2 housing is a piece of tubing about 11-13" long between the turbo manifold and the downpipe. at the manifold, i believe it's 3.25" and tapers to 2.25 or 2.5" at the flange for the DP. with a standard "TBE 3 inch" you still have that restriction from your stock o2. with stage 1, stock boost, and a CAI, prolly good for a few, maybe 4-5 HP, but when you start throwing on more mods, that number increases exponentially with air-flow (IE more boost, bigger turbo). i can fit my entire fist thru a 3" o2 housing lol. also, if it already has 2 o2 sensor bungs, you're saving $20+ on getting one welded on for a wideband. my 3" MPx single exit "TBE" weighed about 75-80 pounds, so you're really only paying like $250-275 for the exhaust lol.

Ouch! I did a bit of searching and it looks like people are getting the maxfabb dp and having a shop make custom exhaust from that.
I checked out the sticky on SRTforums on vids of exhaust setups and the 3'' SEE with resonator is loud, but damn. I want to shoot flamezzz!
You have your old dyno run on here somewhere Mox, I am gonna look for it..
Edit:
Sent payment, its mine. Time to shoot flamezz and be a riceOr.

I will be as honest as I can on how loud I think it is...

wanna sell the o2 housing? it's a bitch to put on.... lol.
Edit: nevermind, i just ordered one from maxxfab, which is the one i've been wanting. it finally came off back0order yesterday. and i was mistaken about the stock o2 housing, it exits to the DP at 2"... huge restriction with a 3" TBE.
Congratz on the purchase, you're going to love the quicker turbo spool. it made mine seem like a whole new beast. you going to get a wideband to go with it, or a plug?

I've read that the neon was designed with very little backpressure in the exhaust system so changing the exhaust doesnt really do much for it except change the sound.

2.25 inch exhaust on a turbo car is going to have more backpressure than 3 inch all the way, any time, regardless of how well the stock was designed. increased diameter equals more space for the same amount of gas to flow thru, which lowers pressure and lowers the RPM at which the turbo will reach full spool. once i get moved and have the time to go to the dyno again, i'll post a sheet comparing the first dyno (stock) to now (3 inch intake and exhaust from the DP back. i'm expecting the torque curve to spike about 200-250 rpm's sooner (that's what my butt dyno is telling me lol).
Myneonsayshi, have you recieved the exhaust yet????? need an update, dood. lol. i really want to know how long it takes you to get the o2 installed...
