Wierd Squeaking Noise.

Post by Daymon » Tue Nov 27, 2007 10:44 pm

Just wondering if anyone has has this before, and what I should do about it.

I'm getting this squeaking noise from my tires, but only when I'm moving forward. I haven't pinpointed if its just my front tires or not.
I think its from my brakes. It just seems to squeak when the tire makes a full rotation, it speeds up as I go faster.

I don't hear it in reverse, and I don't hear it when I'm pressing on my brakes.

I had work done on my brakes about 2 months ago. Serviced the fronts, and replaced the rears.

Thanks folks.

i have the same problem!!!! my rotors have been warped for a while i need to get them fixed but everything is still fine. my wheel just shakes when i stop and my pedal pulses. but then just last week i started hearing this sqeaking noise. i cant tell if its my tire or what. but if i jerk the wheel left while going it stops. and sometimes if i move my window up and down it stops too. but it sounds like its coming from the wheel

my opinion is to stop driving on it.

change the pads, get the rotors resurfaced or replaced (i did it about a month ago, autozone had em for about $50)

Do you have rims or steelies + hub caps?

No pulsing feeling when I hit the brakes.

I'm running rims right now, throwing the steelies on tomorrow.

Guess I'll get them to have a look when I get the tires changed.

Yea mine do too, when I hit the brakes.

This noise is when I'm not pressing on my brakes though.
It seems like the tire is rubbing against something and its causing the squeaking noise.
Seems to happen once every complete tire rotation.

I guess i'll see what happens when the winters are put on tomorrow.

Maybe ur covering is hanging off in the front? Mine did...i ran over a signpost(not INTO IT but OVER IT lol)...the mechanic said it can interfere with the tires and cause noise sometimes.

Check underneath the front spoiler.

maybe it doesn't have anything to do with your brakes or wheels at all?

Maybe it's your belt slipping? I too live in Ontario and with the cold weather and wet weather we are getting, I have noticed my belt is slipping when the engine is cold and makes loud squeaking noise.
