How do you take apart a turbo? I'm guessing you just undo the clamp and it comes apart....maybe...i dont know, thats why im asking lol.

well, it depends on what part you are trying to take apart. if you want to separate the intake and exhaust side then yes, remove the clamp.

what turbo are you trying to take apart, and how far "apart" do you want it

Well, I just bought a s20g and the guy spray painted it black. i want to take it apart so i can sand blast all the paint off then rotate the intake side so its pointing down.

by removing the v-band clamp you will be able to seperate the turbine wheels from the intake and exhaust housings. i have never dealt with a 20g personally, but, for most turbos there are bolts on the intake housing that when loosened will allow you to rotate it to your desired location.

:withstupid: There are the V-band clamp types and then the ones with the bolts. Bolts are self explanitory, just remove them that are going into the compressor side and your set.

it will have a vband for the exhaust side and a snap ring for the compressor side
