warranty

I bought my new Kodak camera from best buy 15 days ago. now it has a hot dead pixel. can i take it back to get an exchange from best buy? i didn't buy there extended warranty. but since its been less then a month will they honor my request since the camera is broken?

check the receipt. they should honor a return due to a faulty product under 60 days being it electronic. it should say on the back of the receipt.


and do yourself a favor. buy the extended warenty ;)

ya i know they have a 14 day return. but mine isn't a return. the product is defected.

update. i was able to get a new camera today. the guy at the counter said he had the same problem with his digital camera to. So he knew what i was talking about. First time Best Buy wasn't an assholes

its usually the customer not paying attention or understanding something that makes them think we are assholes...

14 day return policy on cameras n tvs n whatnot... after that its usually out of our hands. :tardbang:

i never get the warranties on things, and after reading someones thread here about their radar detector extended warranty problem (an old ass thread raised from the dead by a new member) i would definitely never buy the extended warranty


seriously, most of the time, youll want a new upgraded product anyways before ever needing to use the warranty... waste of money

There are ways around a lot of things..

"Hi, I received this as a gift, I asked the person that gave it to me where I got it, they said it was this store. They did give me the receipt if that helps you at all. I turned it on and noticed there is a permanently lit pixel. Could I exchange this for one that isn't defective? "

The gift policy at stores tends to be different then the normal DOA policy, only because the gift may not be opened for a month or so after purchase. They may also exchange it without even getting a receipt (I know walmart does this)

The Best buy "Gift" Return policy runs until Jan 15th on this type of item
