A *very* thorough detailing which involves mostly time and labour on your part. The cost should significantly under $500.KC21Balla wrote:whats a project i could start without putting my car out of order but that i could have fun on over a period of time? but not really expensive. like under 500 dollars. i just want to work on my neon to make it better but i dont know what to do?
While doing that you will be inspecting every nook and cranky of the vehicle and may discover some issues as I did with mine. One of those issues on mine was a leaking CPS which was fixed by replacing the seal... cheap easy job. The cost here will vary depending on exactly what you discover.
While doing the detail you could also cleanup all your ground wire connections. I disconnected all my ground wires, sanded down to the bare metal underneath, applied a coating of dielectric grease and reassembled. No noticeable difference afterwards but I'm sure the system is working better.

He doesn't need to use it because he already has disc brakes. If the rotors are warped, it only costs another $32/each to get them from advance auto.
The detailing can be as in depth as you want. Hudson_Neon took a bunch of parts off of his engine to clean the, but it's not necessary.

Well, if you want to clean every nook and cranny... removing the engine is the way to go even if a little bit on the extreme side.KC21Balla wrote:well im starting my cleaning of the engine bay on sat.im gonna take everything apart that i can and clean it. fun fun
The cleaning of my engine bay is an ongoing project since the vehicle is a daily driver. Now that summer is over and winter is here in full swing the dirty-it-up cycle has started and will last until spring.

If they only need to be turned, then it should only be about $20 - $25 total. $30 max for both rotors.
As long as the major components work, the rotors and pads are the cheap part.
