70MPH + Rock

Post by kplaya186 » Thu Dec 06, 2007 6:50 pm

The other day I was driving on the freeway going about 70-75MPH when it sounded like something came up and hit the front bumper or the underside of my car. I got off at the next exit, and observed the car. I saw no physical damage to the front bumper(at first), so I just assumed that a rock must have hit underneath my car.

The Next day I was walking to my car from a distance and noticed this:

(Sorry for quality, I took this picture on a cell phone!)

I am pretty upset since I just bought, and installed this bumper in the summer. Also, I have been searching non-stop for either foglights or fog delete covers, and no I will never be able to have them :banghead:

That bad news, I hope you can find a replacement for your foglamp.

Indeed, the quality of the picture on your cell is very good.

Greetings!

Wow, be glad it didn't hit just a few inches up, down or to the right... saw someone was selling deletes on here a day or so ago.

Much better off than when I hit a rock at 70mph. My car is at the shop waiting to get fixed to the tune of $1000 for the structural damage. My dad and I are going to do the exhaust damage.

You haven't driven through Michigan if you haven't heard a big noise then said "what was that?"

Come to think of it, that applies to Northern Ontario too.

How to fix your car:
1. Buy a Haynes manual

Ya I am just going to buy them after Christmas. I really don't need them right now, but I thought it would make the front end look a lot better. Hows that tank working out?

You could always adhere another piece of plastic behind the hole and that would fix your problem if you want a foglight or delete.

Dude I see fogs for sale on ebay all the time, both seperate left and rights, and in pairs.
Drive it like you stole it, and work on it like you married it.

if you are "pretty upset" about that i wonder how you would feel in a situation where your car sustained some REAL damage.

fog deletes ftw

Thanks for the offer, but the 00-01 Non-R/T fogs are different than the 02 fogs!
