does anyone regularly start their ms at very cold temps?

Just install MegaSquirt or some other system that allows you to tune your car or just have a question about tuning and the options available? Feel free to ask it here.

I do every morning. It's been anywhere from 5 - 20 degrees here for a couple weeks. It actually starts better at 20 degees than it does at 40 degees.

There are several things going on at the same time, so it kind of hard to say what exactly needs to change to get it right on. Just make small changes and see what happens, then go from there. More timing can help sometimes. I think I'm at around 17 degrees BTDC for high idle.

Does yours just not want to start at all, or does it fire and then die right away, or what?

well i took off afterstart all teh way and it was working the other day. i found out that i just kept flooding the engine i think. it will kick up like it wants to start, but then die down right away, and i think that its getting too much fuel possibly, but im not sure. could i send you my msq and you maybe take a look at it?

I have been. But you can't really use mine for an example. e85 just doesn't like cold, no matter how you set the cranking and ASE.

Any luck? Mine starts fine cold (ive started mine around 35ish one night). I just made sure the car is running spot on when warmed up, and add a bunch of enrichments in the warm up. Its not a big problem in FL though.

well cranking pw is fine i think because it does start up right away, but then it dies right away, but it seems like its flooding the engine.

What does the wideband say? Or do you not have a wideband hooked up yet?

Flooding the engine is really hard to do. I would say it's probably not getting enough fuel. Give it more ASE and see what happens...
