Have a question about how to make horsepower going the all motor route, here's where to ask it.

Call me a gay hippie but I say no. You gain maybe 1 hp and a CEL code (that'll rape your gas mileage) at the cost of damaging the environment even more than your car already is. Unless you REALLY want that 1 hp... then go ahead. And it depends on what you mean by light weight redux, is the car your daily driver?

My .02 cents

^^^^^That would be no cat.
A quality high flow cat will pass emissions w/no trouble. But weather it's worth the cost is debatable unless you are replacing a defective unit. (which technically is the only "legal" option) then the $ is prolly not much more, maybe up to $50 depending on brand/quality. Smog legal HP is almost always expensive.

I agree with the gay hippie about the cat. Plus, the srt is the same as the sxt, hence why the srt mid pipe bolts right up to your cat.

If you want max "flow" (velocity would be better), those 2 resonators and the srt rats nest rear section are a hinderance more than a help. Put the stock mid pipe back on and get a single left side exit w/ a fart can muffler.

The srt-cat flows just a little bit more than a stock SXT cat.

dont listen to the hippies.....if you gut the cat or buy a long tube with no cat then just talk to me and i can hook you up with a 02 simulator (no cel, passes emissions, still runs normal, same mpg, and 100% illegal and no one will know ftw)

So is this something you just use instead of your downstream O2 to make the PCM think that everything is ok? How much do they cost, I'd like to get the Stainless OBX header and down tube and I really didn't want to have to splice the free flow cat that I've got into the down tube if I could help it, this sounds like it'd make it a lot easier to install the header.

Now that's what I'm talking about. Ways to trick the ECM into doing what WE want it to do, not what it wants to do. Do you have a web site or e-mail, I may need to look into this a bit further.

I have two cats that came off of an srt here. They are exactly the same as the normal neon cats.

i've mentioned it once or twice i think, i ran quicker WITH a cat than without one.

A cat is developed around being no more than 10% of total exhaust system backpressure. IMO there are 2 reasons to pull a cat. Turbocharging or alot of time spent on a 2step/ignition interrupt that dumps alot of raw fuel into the exhaust which will melt a cat down. I'd be running one on the racecar for exhausted events if i didn't melt em down in about 8 runs.

well the guy that i get them from works for a porche performance center in maryland so i will talk to him tommorow and see if i can get a link so you can read a little more about them

http://www.voodooboost.com/performance_ ... Simulator/

this is another product you could use..... it pulls the o2 sensor farther back so it reads less

and this is another one that you have to splice in

The Perrin O2 Simulator sounds like a good way to go. For $54 bucks and no CEL I think that's the what I'll do when I get around to installing the OBX header. Looks pretty simple to wire in too. Thanks.

They LOOK the same, but the catalyst materials are completely different. Atleast ACRMan on here and neons.org says they are different, and he works for dodge.

I work with him now lol. He seems like that kind of guy, when he leaves the parking lot and drives to the redlight he just winds out first and lets it go down.
