SXT wheels on SRT brakes
SXT wheels on SRT brakes
THe 6 spoke wheels for the 03 sxt's do NOT fit over the srt brakes....
sadly i found this out today after i finished my entire srt swap.. luckily i had 2 out of 7 srt wheels that were still in decent condition...

I suspected so. It sucks because I want to get bigger brakes.

Oh I didn't realize he said 6- I thought he said 7. 6 would be the snowflakes.

Yeah the 15" alloys for SXT don't fit over the FRONT brakes. On the other hand they do over the rear. Glad you had the extra wheels around.

When you say they dont' fit over do you mean you can't even get the wheel to physically get over the caliper and lined up with the wheel studs? Or do you mean you can put the wheel on but when turning it you can't since it hits the calipers?

^^ False.
tons of people run 15" steelies for both winter tires and slicks. i'm assuming that the inner wall is thinner on steel wheels than on an alloy, allowing for the MM or 3 needed to clear the caliper properly.
Also, apparently, Rota 15's fit over them and are used for slicks as well. i'll be purchasing a pair when i get up the balls to research which slicks work best for SRT's.

Wayne Newton would be correct... you can fit 15s over it which is why I questioned why they wouldn't fit. Maybe the inside diameter of the wheel is smaller on these compared to others... or it's just the spokes that are hitting the calipers... in which case a spacer may work to get it to clear the calipers. On my R/T wheels I have to run 5mm spacers upfront in order to get them to clear the calipers so it could be the same way...
