Fuse message on instrument cluster

Post by neon2.0L16v » Sat Jan 12, 2008 7:38 am

Hi Guys i went out to my car this morning and started it up to see a fuse warning message flashing up on my cluster. I also noticed that when i stoped and switched off the engine and exited the car my dome light did not come on and also the door ajar message on my cluster did not come on. I have also noticed that my alarm and immobiliser light is not comming on. I have checked all the fuses and they are all fine. Any ideas guys. I just hope that it isnt my immobliser on its way out.

Very dead battery usually. Try to jump it.

Simple answer.

The IOD (Ignition Off Draw) fuse in the power distribution center under the hood by the battery is blown or removed.

It's a 10amp fuse with a yellow holder around it.

I have tryed everything i can think of to fix the problem if any one else has ne ideas please let me know. Mine did this 10 minutes ago. It wouldn't click over, and I had a very dimm cluster that would freak out when I tried to check codes. I got the FUSE thing as well.

I gave the car a boost and it's running strong.

if the fuse keeps blowing, then theres obviously a short somewhere along the line. have you modified the car? check bulbs, ground and loose wire.

Agreed, there's either a short somewhere or you added something to the vehicle and tapped the wrong 12volt source overloading the IOD fuse...

look near the fuse box and through out under the dash. feel if anything is loose. then start in the engine bay.
