Wenuden wrote:actually, more often than not, they don't show up. Most people prepay tickets like exhaust and suspension because they don't want more when they pull up to and leave court LOL. I'll just drive the camaro, and take pics of Nate's car before we change his exhaust (LOL he's a cop). It really won't surprise me if he doesn't show up. I told him I look forward to seeing him in court, and that he should redrive from where he started following me before his shift is over.

I really don't care about the 2 mods tickets, but the speeding ticket carries 3 points and an insurance increase, on top of the $500 "abusive driver fee". If I have to pay the speeding ticket, it'll be almost a grand by itself. Total bullshit.
Fuck man, get out of VA. Move to WV, or MD. Also, go get your car inspected right now, so when you go to court you can go against the "illegal exhaust" and "modified suspension". YOu shouldn't have to pay the ticket for 42 in a 25, go get a friend, and take a video of the area, even if you have to "sneakily" film it so you don't see the speed limit signs. You'll be able to win if they aren't clearly marked.

Damn Cops. I know at the end of the month here in the Denver metro area...they are out. I got 4 tickets in one traffic stop once. Alteration of suspension, Modified exhaust, Tags not visable from 200 feet, and drivng obstruction (My rosary). This was on a cruise that around 200 cars went on so my car was freshly washed and my tags were visable to even a blind person. I was pissed but let it go because it was all just "citations to collect fund for the city". Do your homework. I remember seeing a federal staute stating that the SRT-4 is exempt for having a muffler because it has a catalytic converter and a turbo. Good luck. Are you supposed to have a front license plate on your vehicle? Are your windows too dark to be legal?

I know I'm new here and don't want to ruffle any feathers right off the bat, but reading through your posts in this thread, you come across as having a major attitude and IMO, that's where your problem is. I can imagine that any cop that pulls you over is gonna pick up on that in about 2 seconds flat. I mean, you're talking about filing lawsuits, you refer to them as "pigs," you're bragging about handing people their asses -- you come across as a total blowhard and cops hate that ****! From age 16 to 25 or 26, I was good for 3 or 4 encounters with the police every year. Believe me, I learned the hard way (on more than one occasion) that when you're dealing with the police, you catch more flies with honey than you do with vinegar. In your defense, you're pretty young yet. I remember what it was like to be young and angry, but like the Social Distortion song says, "I was wrong."

Yeah, Wenuden does have an attitude, we all know it, but he is pretty good at controlling it when he needs to.

If you search back you'll see that in his previous car which was modified he didn't have alot, if any problems. Now he is getting picked on and singled out, just because he likes his car to be different, as well, the cop was being a d*uchebag...

Sorrty to hear that man. I have only heard bad things about VA and WV when it comes to them handing out tickets ALL the time. Hope you get out of those tickets.

yes, i'm supposed to have a front license plate. and yes the windows are too dark.

sure, i took the license plate off the car, and he got me. he's in the right, but i'm still pissed. in a county as large as mine, he should have better things to do than pull me out of a line of cars for not having a tag, especially since he couldn't see the Va state inspection sticker until i pulled over. for all he knew, i'm from Pa where they don't require one. as for the tint, the car came like that, and i told him. he should have given me a repair order, let me get legal tint, and be on my way, but he gave me a citation, which makes him a dick and a pig. the same goes for the suspension ticket. it came like that, with a valid state safety inspection performed the day i purchased the car, and i have photo proof of that, with the car sitting on the dealer lot with a date/time stamp. my sales person told me he'd go to court for me if the dealership will let him, but considering the fine for passing a non-compliant vehicle, i'm not even banking on that one. altho, if after talking to my lawyer, i can subpoena him, i sure as shit will.

sure, i have an attitude about this, and so would you if you got 5 tickets in 2 days, one of which is going to raise my insurance about $40/month if found guilty, and the 5 will probably cost me a total of about 2grand in fines, court costs, and retarded (and unconstitutional) "abusive driver fees" that were enacted in july of '07 to raise money for road improvements (even tho i havn't seen any done in the last 6 months). sure, i may have been speeding, but not as drasticly as that fucker says, and he really can't prove it, so i really don't care about it. i should get off. as for filing a lawsuit for a scratch, if someone scratched the car that you worked for 5 years to be able to buy/afford to keep and make the way you want, you'd do the same thing. and if you wouldn't, then something's wrong.

as for the attitude, yeah, i have one. a big bad one that i show as often as it needs to be. i also know when to keep it in check, which is why i wait until the officer hands back my license and registration to let them know how i feel about whatever just happened. in the case of the first one, it was "hope ya bring the dash cam footage to court, sucker. have a nice night". and for the motorcycle cop, it was "man, you sure do great police work. i like how you pulled me for a front tag instead of the few speeders and the guy with a broken exhaust and no brake lights. you coulda made more cash off them for the county. your boss is going to be pissed when i file a complaint. have a nice day". that way, if they decide, after my comments, to write more tickets, i get to file a complaint and lawsuit for harassment. i'm an extremely litigious person. i keep a lawyer on retainer, and use him as often as i can, just to get my moneys worth.

as for cops, they're not all bad, and i know it. unfortunately for my perception of them, often the ones that pull me are the dickhead ones. i have family in law enforcement, and a few friends as well. hell, i have a friend that has an SRT that i'm about to put a ton of illegal shit on this weekend. do i care that he'll get out of the same tickets i just got just because he has a badge? nope. one of the few cool cops i've met actually pulled me over in my SRT just to ask where i got the vinal overlay on my third brake light (it says SSSEE YA), because he wants one for his camaro. we sat there (well, he stood outside my window) and kicked it for a few minutes and then he let me go on my way without giving me a ticket for an obstructed brake light or safety device or whatever he said it was that i could be pulled over for. my biggest problem with cops are the ones that see their jobs as strictly being a way to make money for the state, instead of to protect and serve. if i'm doing something that's a danger to other people on the road, go ahead and pull me, inform me, and cite me. whatever, good job, thanks, and have a good one (no sarcasm there, seriously). but if i'm minding my own business, not bothering anyone, and not being a menace, don't dick with me just because you're bored. some of these guys just don't seem to remember what it was like to be young and not a cop.

/rant. thanks for setting me off. be easy, homie. welcome to 2gn.

oops, almost forgot... when an SRT runs the average Honda with a fart can on the highway, the Honda gets it's ass handed to it.

I too am sorry to hear about all your troubles with the tickets. I got one the other day for my tint. It is enough to really make you mad for sure. What really cranked my gears was the fact that on the ticket the orig. fine is only 28 bucks an some change. By the time all the fee's were added it was over 75! One listed fee was for court security ??? I thought ok what the heck does that have to do with me being pulled over on Rt1! I thought if you want to get a certin amt for a ticket then just do the one price. The breakdown of "fee's" pissed me off more then getting the ticket! Anyways, the tint is coming off on Sat. I cant afford stupid crap like that. I luv'd having that tint too so Im really bummed about it all... :(

OH, and "he did me a favor" by not charging me with the lic. plate frame I have on my car.... he said he couldnt tell what year my sticker was for.. pffft I had to laugh cause I thought to myself... umm you dont know what the number 10 looks like? I just smiled an said thank you very much!

Wow Dee Dee, I'm very sorry to hear that this happened to you. Blu looks great with the tint and it's a shame that you have to strip the tint off. I really don't want to jinx myself because I've had my baby tinted since the very second day I got her new, almost 8 years ago now, and I haven't been pulled over yet. I know that their's a good reason (for safety of our law enforcement officers) that it's illegal for vehicles to have tinting. But I'm sure that Blu will look great without, maybe it's not the way you want your baby to look, but it beats the alternative. And as for all those fee's, that's just :cussing: I hope your luck improves and that all this crap is behind you now. Here's keeping my fingers crossed for you.

As far as touching your car. I ALWAYS touch the trunk/hatch of a car I pull over. Its a safety thing. Its to tell right away if a car is running, to see if there is any unsual movements in the car (people hiding, or hiding objects), and to make sure the trunk is latched. Cops have been killed by having someone jump out of a trunk and attacking them while talking to a driver durring a vehicle stop.
:withstupid:

Another reason for touching the car is known as "printing." If shit hits the fan those prints help link the car to the situation.

I knew you would chime in eventually. Dont you love threads like this? People whining about getting a ticket. Im sure the same people are the ones who whine when their car is broken into, and the cops dont come out with 18 decs and the crime scene van.

First theres too many cops, then theres not enough. Theres no pleasing some.

Yeah, I pity the turd who breaks into my car/home while I'm anywhere around. I don't need cops for that. The only thing Virginia has going for it is the right to carry. The last person to break into my neighbors house is still in jail, and probably dreams of the barrel of a .45 every night.

Anyways, after talking to a friend that works for the same department as the cop that pulled me over Sunday, I found out that he owns a "drag" chevelle with a 4-link suspension and open headers that he drives on the street from time to time. Granted, there's the possibility that he has historic tags on it, which would allow him to do so, but that's still pretty hypocritical of him.

I got pulled over the other night and the stupid cop started flicking my brand new projectors (i just put them in the day before)... I got caught doing 51 in a 35 but i was decelerating from coming out of a 45... I usually tend to go about 5 over... but oh no... that cop had to get his quota in.
