Oh SH*T!!

Post by Kelevra » Tue Jan 15, 2008 9:54 pm

I almost wrecked today.. and here's the story...

Ok, it had been snowing and the roads were abit wet from the melted snow that wasn't laying and here I was, driving down the Bayshore Rd (Main road) in Villas, NJ minding my business going 35ish in a 35MPH zone. When out of nowhere this wrinkly, old, cotton topped, blue haired bitch in a gold crown vic pulls RIGHT out in front of me. I immediately slam on the brakes and my wheels lock up. I pull off to the side JUST missing her by mere inches! and just as I avoid the near collision of neon and crown vic (which would have left me in peices and her with a small knick in the paint). I look in my rear view mirror right after the near accident and what do I see? Take a wild guess!

Yes! a cop! So I'm like oh shit... His lights flick on and I pull over. at this point I'm thinking he's going after me. Nope, he shut his lights off and he sped by me and went straight after her. I was like Oh Shit!

At this point in time I'm thinking "Thank you, a cop is finally around and goes after someone who f*cked up and did me wrong"

Justice was served

[/end story]

close calls suck, but they are a hell of a lot better than the other option.

Yeah, and the test should see if they go more than 5 under the speed limit. If they can't do that, they shouldn't be allowed to drive. That goes for anyone actually.

Not true!! state law, in NJ, states you can SAFELY travel up to 5 miles above or below the posted speed limit. slower than the posted you can get an obstructing traffic ticket. and we all know what happens when you go above.

driving too slow is just as dangerous as driving too fast. :slap:

after I parked where I was going and I calmed down, I laughed my ass off thinking about the old lady saying "I didn't see him coming" and the cop saying "It was a bright yellow car, how could you not?"

glad you didn't get screwed. There is a minimum speed on freeways, 40mph. Though this is only useful if there isn't a shit load of traffic.

maximum speed is just that, maximum speed allowable by law. it's just a question of if a police officer is going to enforce it or not

for instance, in PA, you can do 5mph in towns and city's. on state highways, you can do 10mph over without fear of being ticketed...

Yeah...I know. I'm just saying no one would want to live where I do; people won't go more than 5 under. And this is in a town where the highest speed limit is 35 mph. So it sucks.

I would have to agree. Their comes a point in time where enough is enough and you shouldn't be behind the wheel of a car.

Glad to hear you and your car came out unscathed.
