i believe the mounting hardware is different..

but it could also be the same issue as the 03 R/Ts

I know that the TPS sensor is different on an '05 than on any other model year.
I know this because I tried to help a friend with a 2005 STX 'retrofit' and install an older 2nd gen T/B onto his engine, and then found this out. :oops:

I don't know if that is the only difference, or if there are others.
We never go so far as to remove his throttle body, and compare the 'bolt patterns' to see if they were the same.

Well, either I am wrong, or Advance Auto's catalog is wrong.....

If I recall correctly, the TPS on my friend's 2005 was a 4-wire connector, different from the preceeding model years. (???)
I am going to confirm this.

It will probably 'bolt up' the same, but the connector is different, unless I am mistaken.

Hell, he was just over here visiting and left a few minutes go.
I should have checked under the hood before he left. :lol:

Seriously, now I really am wondering. I will follow this up and post what I find.

I would think that AAP's website is up to date, or there could be a lot of pissed off people

I'm going to PM this like to BRR and he will probably check in the morning.

Or maybe it was the IAC that was different.
Hell, I don't remember. :lol:
It was last spring, and it's too damn cold out to call him and ask him to go check. :lol:

I will follow up with him, and ask him what the difference is when it gets warmer outside. (It's 5 deg.F outside now) :shock:

I think I found the answer, in another thread.

kevo wrote:00 models use a traditional 4 prong IAC along with an adaptor that is fused to the throttle body. 01-05 models use a 2 prong IAC. Besides that, they are exactly the same.
I believe the T/B that I was messing with is from a 2000, so my friend's 2005 would have the 2-prong connector.

THAT'S what the difference is !!!
So what I thought I remembered, was wrong .... an '05 would have a two-prong connector, not four.

I apologize for being a dufus and (almost) spreading misinformation. :oops:

All 2GN throttle bodies will work interchangably, pending that you change the IAC if so equipped.

To answer the OP's question, it will bolt up and run your car, however some people on here have experienced problems with the upgraded TB throwing CEL codes on their vehicles.

I have it on my 05 and it works fantastic. Results will apparently vary, though.

Speaking of which, I just got mine in the mail this week. Does anyone have a spec for the bolt size needed on the IAC and Throttle cable bracket. I just started my new courses and moved back to Flint so I don't have much time to spend trying out bolts

Thanks!

As far as the TPS:
4874430 supersedes to 4874430AB applications, 95+ neon

IAC motor:
4773817 --->4874432 ----> 4874432AB ---> 4874432AC = 1GN
5014285AA = 2000 model only
5014116AA = 2001-04
5142960AA = 2005

Throttle body:
4669894AB = 2000 MTX
4891096AC = 2000 ATX
4891375AD = 2001-04
4891375AF = 2005 only

The original part number 1GN TPS sensor supersedes to the 2GN part number and requires a wiring harness pigtail update to get it to work. As far as the TB and the IAC between the 04/05 model years, I dont have actual pictures to show what the difference is, by part number there different...
