Not much of an update but... '96-'99 SOHC valve cover FTW! To be done in textured black/clear coat + polished lettering.

*update*

Earlier this year I had 'liberated' a relatively rare aluminum SOHC side mount from early '95 Neon. Mopar part number 4668158. I painted it in a textured black and a coat of clear engine enamel. I plan on doing the valve cover and intake manifold in the same.

*update*

- Finished the valve cover tongiht.

I should have the Indy intake manifold and MPx throttle body tomorrow! I'm also debating on getting a Magnum head instead of the standard one. Which one should I go with?

Uhh, today was horribly slow! :banghead:

Got the three missing main bearings and Mopar bedplate sealant (04773257)

Also shaved the "INDY" from the manifold.

Image

I'm also going to have a 60mm inside diameter pipe welded on to the manifold. The stock Indy inlet pipe is no larger than the stock factory pipe! :cussing:

Ahggg... Spending my Saturday night porting an intake manifold for a Dodge Neon? :tardbang:

Doesn't look like alot, but it's took about 2 hrs to get this far. The casting on the manifold is VERY rough.

Looks great. What did you use to port it out? And are you gonna be fitting a 60MM throttle body on that?

I'm using various rotary sanding bits and assorted sandpaper. Yes, I'll be runing a 60mm throttle body.

- Plastigauging the main bearings.

^^^ A medium-sized pneumatic rotary tool, not a tiny Dermel.

I have finished opening up all four ports and unshrouded the injectors. You can see in the pics how shrouded the injectors are.

The finish is 80-grit sanding + polishing (to prevent fuel/oil from collecting on the surface).

if the indy intake manifolds were making 26whp bolt on i dont see why yours wont make even more now with all the porting.

26whp seems like a lot. Hopefully it'll atleast help me attain my 200whp all-motor goal... 400whp with nitrous! :D

If all goes well I should have some :quotes: nice :quotes: updates by the end of the month.

Wow, great build! I still think you shoulda waited for the Chrysler Blue to come in...or at least ordered it. I like Chrysler blue better than Chevrolet Blue. I shouldn't talk though, cuz all my orange stuff is Chevrolet Orange, but I happen to like the color better than Chrysler Orange.
