My New Dash

Post by LaidNeon » Tue Jan 22, 2008 11:04 pm

I remember in my project thread that some of you thought my dash & steering wheel wouldn't look right in a neon............................well tonite i got it 100% welded in & i just couldn't help putting the column & steering wheel in. I'm just in complete Aww over how good it looks in the car. BTW answer the poll question please

For those that don't know, its a 1951 Ford Custom dash narrowed down 5" & the steering wheel is believed to be from a Chysler New Yorker

Finally pics.

I like it but I don't. I love how original it is. Love how custom it is. Love the gangstaness of it. But I don't know if I like the look yet. I guess to me it just doesnt look right in a neon. I will have to see it all complete and painted. I think it will look a ton better when painted. I will hold my judgement till further down the line. Work is def amazing though dude.

Your poll confuses me.

It could be cause its late, or cause I'm drunk. I voted "No" because I feel that it DOES suit the car.

I think thats right. I am so confused.

well its obvious parts are missing from the dash so i don't blame you on making your final call after its painted.

when its all polished up and finished is when I'll let you know if I like it.... That is way different from the fact that I like that you are doing it and doing a damn good job of it. Can't wait to see it complete.

Thats what it looks like to me and thats how I had voted.

I think it does suit the car and I can't wait to see it painted along with the rest of the car.

I voted yes, only because I'm eager to see the finished project. Not really feelin the BIG-ASS steering wheel though...you do some fantastic work though, I gotta say that!

Wow. I can appreciate the work..the fit looks great. Not a fan of the steering wheel, but then again, if you are carrying the theme throughout the interior I think it would be very cool

Of course just my opinion. Very nice job so far man!

the paint will not be retro.............the only thing retro on the exterior will be the Old School DODGE emblem

in my project log thread i mentioned that i planned to get the Dakota Digital cluster. I just can't throw down 800 bucks right now for it since it's not something i need to get the car ready. so i plan to rock the stock one until later on

you need to make sure you put in some low back old school front seats, maybe some captain chairs ;)

but seriously, low back buckets for sure, that would go awesome with the interior.

edit: OOOOO!!!! And crushed velvet interior!!!!
