Kind of disturbing to me...

Post by 60trim » Wed Jan 23, 2008 9:38 pm

Now this was something local here in Denver about a triple fatal crash, but this is the jist if what the story is. "A driver was travelling around 120 mph when he lost control, hit a pole and the vehicle exploded. All three in the vehicle were killed." Now here is the disturbing part to me.........

I saw an interview on the news the other night. It was the sister of one of the boys that was in the vehicle. A statement she made towards the end of the interview was this.......it may not be word for word, but this was the jist of it.

"He and his friend were inseperable. The were like brothers. In fact he (the friend) had become like another brother to me. They were always together, and they loved to go fast. They had motorcycles that they used to ride together..It's hard to take. But I guess if this had to happen, at least they were doing something they loved.....going fast."

Are you shittin me? This was totally avoidable. This did not HAVE to happen. In fact.....not only did they take their lives doing something that is totally stupid, but they took a young girls life in the process. Don't get me wrong. I feel very sad for the families that this has impacted, but if the sister thinks it's ok to go out and kill yourself, and who ever else gets in the way just to do something that you love to do.......That is a sad (and scary) indication of the direction our society is taking, and makes me wonder what the youth of today think about public safety, and the consequinces of their actions?

Are we truely that far gone into the "ME" generation that doing something you love to do is ok, no matter who it affects?

That is really messed up. And people wonder why my generation really bugs the crap out of me a lot of times.

Heres a thought, if someone loves going fast so much then maybe they should spend a few bucks and try the NASCAR experience

she was probably still so distraught that she was running on auto-pilot, saying something that was more to comfort herself during a time of grief than it was ment to make sense or make an unaffected party understand.

When my "brother" died in a motorcycle accident that was probably his fault and was totally completely avoidable, I remember saying the exact same thing. It wasn't ment to make sense, it wasn't ment to make anyone care any more, it was strictly for me, to help myself cope with the loss of a lifelong friend. I still believe it. Hopefully I can go out doing something I love. It beats the alternatives. I just hope I don't take anyone else with me.

yea the younger generation is goin down the shitter, its unfair for ppl to say that generation y is to blame, (even tho in some ways it is). Kids and teens nowadays look at the brittney spears and lindsey lohans, and paris hiltons of today and see that those celebs basically get a way with anything when it comes to driving and acting irresponsibly. Its sad when you dont have common sense or responsibility to take your own safety, public saftey and the safety of your passengers into consideration. I mean hell, you got 40 - 50 year old women and men still acting like they are 18-20 and reckless and then their kids say "hey mom and dad act this way, so can I"
Idk f*ck Im done.. lol

I apologize for the rant 2gn. org :beatstick:

Probably shouldn't listen to anything your penis says, that guy's a dick.

At first I thought it was an EVO, I was about to say damn another one...

A kid I knew had just bought an evo in early december, and was driving wayyy over the speed limit and hit a curb right before new years, flew into the air took out a business sign and landed on top of a parked g35 he was thrown from the car and died at the scene, his girl was in the car and had her belt and she survived.

Some people just shouldnt have fast cars.

Unfortunately, I see this too, where I live.

HELL, sometimes I've seen the (so-called) "GROWNUPS" drive more reckless than everyone else !!

Over here, the local police blotter is full of items like this one: "Ms.Blah Blah Blah, 50, of Yadda Yadda lane, was cited for speeding, failure to come to a complete stop, driving on a suspended license, and failure to carry proof of insurance". :angry1: :angry8:

It's hard for the kids to act responsibly, and to learn from a good example, when their parents are as, if not MORE, stoooopid than they are.

^ You know most kid can actualy seperate right and wrong. Yeah but people are totaly f**king retared as soon as they get there lisence and it is so hard to loose yours up here if you are over 21 that it may as well not have to be renewed, if your under 21 they sit around to try to think of new ways to get it away from you.

Example:
We were out driving last night I was waiting to pull out I had been sitting at the stop sign for maybe 5 seconds it is very hard to see out of that intersection that coupled with the fact that I was driving the R/T (one scratch means I die) I was being very cautious. Some a**hole in an F-250 come up on me revving his engine and blowing the horn I continued to wait (taking much more pleasure in it now) and he whips around (in the wrong lane none the less) and pulls beside me, at about this time I saw it was clear and I let it fly (its been forever since I drove the R/T and its really fast) he still in the wrong lane trys to keep up but it was a wasted effort  I know that was a bad choice but it was hella fun and I would have had no problem lifting to prevent an accident.
