Buying Tires

Post by Skidman » Thu Jan 24, 2008 4:11 pm

ok so im buying new tires for my neon. I want to get Fuzion HRi tires for my car...

However...my mom and my uncle and ppl keep telling me to just get the deltas becuz I dont have a "performance" car. Now..when i checked tirerack.com the Fuzions were only $52 as opposed to my uncle telling me the Delta's are $45.

Im only buying two tires..i was going to replace the other two when i got paid. But im really upset over this like...its my car..i dont want no cheap delta's.

And im not buying the argument that it doesnt matter what tires u buy they all perform the same. They even tried to tell me if I get performance brakes the car wont stop any better.

if you are paying for it then get what tires you want.

you get what you pay for with tires, with a few exceptions.

i always recommend yokohama's, specifically the AVID series. I love my AVID TRZ's.

they're right about the brakes, to an extent. Sure, a full blown set of performance brakes will perform a bit better than stock, but a set of good tires will help braking too, and if you're not maxing out the braking capabilities of the tires, better brakes will probably just help you lock the tires up easier. Locked tires don't slow you down.

The Fuzion HRi tires aren't too bad. They probable will offer better handling and performance than the deltas. But keep in mind that the Fuzions probable won't work to well in the snow.
