Big lack of power
I own a 2002 SE and Don't have much power until 3800 RPM's. When my engine is cold, it has no power and actually loses power and bogs down when I step hevily on the throttle until it gets to operating temp. It has a new air filter and spark plugs along with magnecore wires. There are no other mods at this time and it has 89,000 miles and not throwing any codes. Any ideas what this may be?

Sounds like a regular Neon to me. Mine doesnt start picking up until 3000RPM, and really doesnt get into full swing until about 4000-4500. Peak TQ is at 4600, and peak HP at 5600, so dont expect too much until you near those levels. Try staying in a lower gear for longer; your problem could be something as simple as overly-early shifting. Keep it around 2500 RPM when cruising for best response without fuel mileage sacrifice. Shift around 3-3500 and you should be in the powerband.

Is it generally easy to replace 3800 pcms or should I get a mechanic to do it. Also, how would if affect the warranty?
