Last ticket?

Post by JRM » Wed Jan 30, 2008 11:36 am

In light of recent threads posted it got me wondering how long it has been since everyone's last ticket?

In December it was 4 years since my last ticket.

I've had three warning tickets. The first was for hitchhiking on I-75 in northern Florida in 1980. The second (2000) was when I was rear-ended while driving a company vehicle (not my fault) and the cop wasn't happy that my employer hadn't signed the registration. The most recent (2006) was having a headlight out on a company vehicle. But I've never had an actual ticket in my life. :D

the cop gave you peanut butter and jelly???

Wow!

My last ticket was in 2001, and I got two, both for 11 over in a 60... I had to get a lawyer... prior to that I had a DUI in 1997, got that removed as well (it was before some law changes). I have since watched myself   prior to that I had a ticket a year, at least - got three the first year I began driving... in 1990, and that was after June - got all but two fixed in my life. Possibly had 15-20 speeding tickets :slap:

before that was a bigger speeding ticket

Good thread.

Got one for going 63 in a 35 in my 01 Neon a couple years back. It was a day after my birthday too....Wasn't in a good mood at all and some dude in a Camaro pulled out in front of me, so I zoomed past him going down the hill. Its 45 and then it goes down to 35 going down the hill.

Paid the ticket off the next day in the morning and haven't had my insurance go up or anything since then.

I got a ticket for 40 in a 25, which I seriously thought was a 35 zone, in Dec 2006. Got PBJ.

Prior to that I got a ticket the summer of 2003, officially it was for 64 in a 55, but I was doing closer to 70. I just paid that one.

Could be better, but not too bad imo.

Last ticket was for tint summer 06. Just had to take off my (beautiful) tint.

Last speeding ticket was 84 in a 55 July 04. If the cop had waited it would have been 85 in a 55, and that tacks on reckless driving. Luckily my S-10 couldn't go any faster. This whole fiasco ended badly.

I had my old license, with my old address. The cop wrote my old address down, even though my registration had my new address, and I told him that. I went, changed my addy at MVA, and I wait for my court date so I can get PBJ. Guess what happened? They sent everything to my old address. The ticket stub, the court date, everything. So, they send my license suspension notice to my new address. I freak out, and mail a check for $180 in. I never hear anything back, and the check was cashed.

SO, my drummer tried to kill himself Dec 24th 2005. On my way home, I get pulled over, the cop said "Hey, did you know your license was suspended?" I was like "WTF?! NO WAI!!"

Turns out, I wrote the wrong number on my check, even though I also included the stub from my ticket, and my license number. My checks have my address on it. You know what? They issued me a refund to my old address.

So heres what I had to do, I had to go pay for the ticket again, talk to the commissioner, and then go to court, and they ended up putting it on a STET docket. Then I was supposed to issued a refund.

So ghey. :tardbang:

i have only ever gotten one ticket and that was february 2007, it was for my tint, the ticket was dropped before the court date (not sure why, i just got a letter in the mail sayin it had been dropped). I have been pulled over many times and should have gotten a lot of tickets but i guess im just lucky (like one time i was caught driving around with my G1 and no licensed driver and the cop let me go and even let me drive home :tardbang: )

Jan. 2nd, 2008

Yahoo, way to start the new year right?!
Got lit up but since I drive like an old man now I couldn't wait to hear what for.
Expired tag.
My birthday is in Dec.
The officer was real cool, he said, "Don't worry about it, we're just giving everyone a chance to get it taken care of because of the holdays...let me run your license."
No problem.
Comes back and writes me an $80 ticket because of a repeat violation almost exactly 3 years ago.
"WTF?! (I say to myself of course) you we're going to let me pass but now 5 minutes later you slap me with an $80 ticket?!"
Got reduced to $50 with a signature on some court paper saying some nonsense but anyway...all taken care of, no hard feelings.

About a year ago, speeding on Memorial in Houston like a week after I got my Neon (really curvy road) I was going like 95 - 100mph saw the cops hiding in the bushes and locked my brakes up, they got me with laser (says my radar detector) at 67 in a 50. Got deferred adjudication (basically probation where you pay but it doesn't go on your record unless you get another ticket during the probation).

Summer of 1999 in MD 20 over ,but got nailed the summer of 2000 in Texas for doing 115 in a 70. Cop was cool knocked it down to 90 in a 70, no one on the road besides me, I then proceeded to lose the ticket and paid the $100 ticket over the phone in 2003 after a law firm was assigned to collect.

Shit... I got six at one time... 3 years ago.

Then about three months ago some dude was jacking with me... He would go slow, then I would try to go around him and he would speed up, then he would go slow and then speed up... Yeah, I was aggrivated. Then I opened her up and blew his doors off.

Yeah... 82 in a 65...

Cop asked me if I was late for something... I said no... Just enjoying my morning drive. And then I got a ticket.

Oh well.

Most of you are lucky, in Oklahoma 20 over is a felony!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Most recent is this past Dec. 26 running a stop sign, the rookie cop was going after the guy in front of me and I didnt see him so he got me. The funniest one I got was 91 in a 45 in a Buick Reatta, I went past 2 state troopers on a quiet country road and blew past them going up a hill. I knew I was busted so I slowed down around a curve and waited for them. They thought I was drunk and gave me all the tests and then started drooling over the very rare Buick and gave me a small ticket for not having registration and a warning for speeding with no speed listed, so $25, thats it. I also have about 50 minor saftey violations, to low, to dark, to loud, but I have grown out of all that and I drive like an old man now

My most recent is June 07. I got it for going 94 in a 60. The only problem is that the trooper f'd something up cause I had just turned onto the highway and punched it and was only at about 60 when I let off the peddle. I guess radar guns don't react too well to rapid acceleration. Cop was a ass and I was trying to be nice and tell him what was going on. He wanted nothing of it so I asked to see the radar gun and he wouldn't show it to me. My guess is it spiked and he needed a ticket.

I've never been convicted of a traffic violation in the 8 times I've been pulled over. Lawyers are useful and when they are free it's even better.

How is that even possible?!
Not the speed part, the not-going-to-jail-and-car-impounded-just-get-a-fat-ticket part.
Medicinal pot is legal in Oregon isn't it? Maybe that explains it!

Haha. I don't know but she just got a ticket LOLz!
Btw. The speed limit on every highway and freeway in Oregon is 55mph. Which sucks a lot!
