A/C Question with the Srt-4 swap

Post by UrBaNsTyLe55 » Tue Feb 05, 2008 1:11 am

hey guys i have been searching and unable to find the information im looking for so maybe some can direct me the right way. With the srt-4 swap can the 2gn a/c compressor and lines be used with the srt-4 engine, or does the srt-4 compressor need to be used. Now if the srt-4 compressor has to be used do the facotry 2gn a/c lines match up or do they have to be swapped as well. Once again thanks for any help

I am using my original SXT A/C. That is also because I'm using the SXT radiator as well. so I did not change any of that out. It gets real tight with the fuel line, but it is working just fine.

Hey Hey
we have the same problem but we have a 2000 body and all the lines are from the 2000 but the compressor is from the srt and that is a 05? so we are going to try to take it to a a/c only shop (if we can find one)and have them set it up if it could what year is your body

the srt compressor and regular compressor are the exact same unit...The condensor is also the same.....The only difference are the a/c lines.......

I didn't want to have to go to have my A/C professionally emptied and refilled. So I kept the whole A/C intact when I did my swap, as you can see in the pic below.

Well, if all works well, UrBaNsTyLe55 may be using a 2000 ATX SE that I am selling. The A/C is intact and works well. One thing in his favor is that the A/C line that runs by the P/S pump has been changed to the later '01 style.
If I could just figure out how to meld the Outback and the Neon into one car...

Hey Hey
snkmug when we went to put the AC on we did not have the 05 compressor and tried to use the 00 but it would not fit the bracket so we found the 05 compressor now all we have to do is have a few lines made and add freon
