Anyone work at a dealer? I need OEM parts...

Post by mztykal » Thu Feb 07, 2008 3:19 am

...if possible. I need the rear windsheild molding (the one that touches the roof and quarter panels) and the front windsheild molding (the strip that touches the roof).

OR

Part numbers and prices so I can order them at rip-off prices from the dealer locally.

Thanks!

First question asks if anyone works at the dealer. I wonder what hooked on phonics was for...

...I guess not everyone can comprehend a WHOLE post, only parts.

Well, he does have a point. Even worded the way it was, it should be in the part # forum. For the record, I work at a dealer. But besides that, what kind of car do you need these #'s for?

Be glad to help, and remember, we are all here to help out.

Parts are for a Neon. Thanks.

I guess if you take it he has nothing better to do than post his two cents in a thread that if he had nothing useful to post he could've just skipped it and not replied.

Oh well, take it out of context and flip it to make you right. Whatever makes you sleep better at night.

Ummm. I'll skip over the barbs, I don't want this to become a flame thread. What year Neon are you working on?

Aren't the pieces I need standard as the windsheilds from 00-05 didn't change? Not trying to be rude, just curious.

But the car is a 03. Thanks man!

Probably, just wanted to make sure you weren't working on a 1st gen...you never know.

Ok, you aren't going to like this.....

On the front...the upper windshield molding (glass to roof) part #5288571AB..MSRP $19.50. The side moldings (glass to doors)..part #5303404AF (right) and 5303405AF (left)...MSRP $54.60 each.

Now the bad part. Chrysler does not service the rear molding. The rear window is encapsulated, meaning it comes in the molding. I called a local glass shop to confirm this. Once you can see straight from the frustration, here is the # for the glass...5008049AL, MSRP $584.00, but you would have this serviced through your local glass company as Chrysler lists this as a Vendor Ship Direct (VSD) part.

Sorry, but if it helped you then yay?

This is why it pays to have comprehensive with a low deductible. The windshield on my '95 Highline decided to crack all by itself :cussing: so State Farm had to pay 100% for the replacement Mopar glass (they tried to put aftermarket glass in but I stopped Safelite just in time!).[/hijack]
