Post by GTS » Thu Feb 07, 2008 6:38 am

This is a video that I shot of my car with the Camaro - Dynomax single in - Dual out 2.5" Axle back muffler that I hand craftd. It sounds pretty good and very deep but the sound clip just didnt cut it, I was listening to it and I almsot cant recognize it... sounds SOOOO much better in person...

Here are a few pictures....

Nice! You did a better job on the muffler to mid-pipe connection than I did though. I was at the mercy of a non-welder :(

The only difference with mine was I have an ACR bumper, so I used Vibrant 4 3/4" oval tips out back. My pipes came out at a angle as well, and it made the tips fit in the openings perfectly.

Well done, and yes, it sounds better in person
If I could just figure out how to meld the Outback and the Neon into one car...

Well to be honest its probably not the best job out there because it was first time wlding with a Tig for me so I didnt get much practice before I hacked at it... but I found a good technique for getting it all together... I used clear packaging tape to get all the bends in place and teh way I wanted them and then I just tacked all in place, checked the fit again and then welded it all. I had to use a reducer from 2.5 to 2.25 or 2 I cant remember exactly but all in all it worked well... I like the fact that its tucked in and you cant see the belly when you drive behind me...

Other then that I will try to get another clip as this one turned out like crap... and to be honest I was listening to it and I was wondring if that was really my car because its so much different in person.

But from the looks of it the welds are rusting through and soon it might be due for replacement, I had it for over 3 years now and no problems but I am deffinetly going with the same muffler for the future... 50$ from summint aint bad for such a great muffler...

I have the same muffler with tips and I love mine. So low sounding. I sometimes like to just sit in a chair and listen to it....lol... and yes I have done it at cars shows before.

getting rid of the 2 1/2 pipes out the back with a larger tip will help get the tone down more....
