IAC Problem?
My car is a 2002 Chrysler Neon SE. Today me and my buddy were changing my cluster bulbs to leds. After we were done and when I turned the power on this odd chirring noise started coming from the IAC. Also, I pulled the code P0508. Is my diagnosis correct that I need to replace the IAC? My car has sometimes shut down instead of idling so I've been thinking that it might be going bad and now this kind of confirms it. The car did run fine the way home. Any help is appriciated.

Okay now this is interesting. This morning the IAC made less sound and I went to a dealership to get the price for a new part. Well, they erased the P0508-code from the system and it didn't come back + the IAC no longer makes that sound. Not that I complain, got a free fix instead of the 300 bucks the part would have cost me. Don't know if removing the battery & cluster could cause something like that but I'm glad it went away.

Yeah I found that one too and had the problem not gone away I sure would have asked if they'd ship to Finland. But I hope that if the problem does come back some carb cleaner will do the trick. We used some electronic cleaner but that didn't seem to help.ZeroChad wrote:$10 replacement

Today when I stopped to fine tune my CD player I heard that same weird sound again. No engine light yet but to be on the safe side I'm gonna order that replacement part. Better to be safe then sorry. And if I don't need it I can sell it for triple the price for a nice profit since only way to get a new one here is to go to the dealer and they charge a fortune. I don't really see how the part being dirty could cause that sound but I'll still try some carb cleaner on it once I get my hands on it.

That sucks. The part is the old Pn# the $ new ones $ are the superceeded PN#'s. They must have bought out the remaining stock. It is a OEM piece complete with the PN# cast into the plastic part. I think DCX changed vendors... Mine is still working fine. (Despite my mishap in the off topic section)

Probably shouldn't listen to anything your penis says, that guy's a dick.
Too much time spent here is a sign of a bad case of Ownaneonvirus.Patience, of course, is a very powerful weapon, but sometimes I start to regret that it is not a firearm.
