I'm actually back with silverstar ultras now, no more hyper yellows! Those are super bright, prepare for police interaction! :)

I recently helped a friend of mine install some 6K HID's in his cobalt ss and they are amazing. Definatly on my to do list! Very inexpensive too, I think he paid $160 shipped.

All those people that say that stuff aren't haters, see, outside of the internet there's real life, and in real life, we have whats called S-C-I-E-N-C-E, and P-H-Y-S-I-C-S, that tells us the truth, and never lies.

HID's in a stock housing ARE NOT PUTTING MORE LIGHT WHERE IT MATTERS!

With all that said, yellow is in fact the longest wavelength out there, so, even if the HID bulb is throwing light in akward directions, it travels further. So, your yellow HID's, will produce more light...........EVERYWHERE, LOL.

I'm sure they are blinding to other drivers, but, the yellow is more pleasing to the eye, as your eyes are most sensative to blues, not the other end of the spectrum, yellows.

So, I would say you are doing less damage to others, and seeing more with the yellow HID's than that of your 6000K+ brethrin when placed in stock, untouched housings.

I like them.

Hey chris, my friends cobalt has 6K HIDs in stock housings and theyre bright as piss. They project 10 times as far and as wide as stock bulbs, and the light is perfectly smooth around the edges. Your theory makes sense but it would appear that it doesnt apply in all cases. Whats the deal with HIDs on stock 03+ lights? I heard theyre stupid bright due to the already excellent properties of the stock housing. I get people flashing me left and right and all I have is some Silverstar Ultras.

When I had the 4300k ones in my Blue car, I purposely aimed them down, even though I was lowered.

I think after I adjusted them, I had maybe 3 people flash me in all the time I had them.

Sorry, I was talking about Neon housings in particular.

Yeah, some cars are just better off with them than others, it all depends on how close the HID bulbs capsule is to the original placement of the halogen filament, ans well as which way the filament is placed, some run parallel to the glass, while others run perpendicular, those usually produce the worst possible results with HID's.

The reason the Neon is so bad is because it uses one bulb for lows and highs, and the HID bulb is like having highs on all the time since it can't block the lower part of the housing from the light.

Yep the 6k is deffinetly bright, maybe not as bright as it should be, a 5K would beat it in light output but as for color well... here are mine, OEM 4300 in the headlights and 5K in the fogs...
